My world changed the moment he stepped out of it. It’s not like he knew leaving our house would bring the pressure onto me, but it did. Mother and Father, they decided I needed to be the good kid. Their good kid.
And I don’t want to be, I want to be me and I want to leave, I need to leave
“Yo, Regina!” Sirius’ voice booms through the halls. I can’t help it. I look up at him and I almost smile. He looks happy. I walk faster, and bumped right into Severus.
“Watch where you’re going, freak.” He snarled, pushing past me.
Yeah that’s me, freak of Slytherin, though no one will admit it outside the common room, except Snape, he can’t help it. It’s not like I want to be a freak, but, well the first night here….

“Regina Black” Professor McGonagall calls my name before anyone else.
“Gina,” Rosier pushes me, hissing in my ear. I stumble being caught off my guard, tripping all the way to the parapet. I take a deep breath glancing over at Sirius before the hat is put on my head.
“Ah a Black” the voice croons in my ear.
Please just get it rover with I hold my breath knowing where I’m going, not really knowing if it’s a relief or a burden
SLYTHERIN
Sighing, I look over at Sirius, I knew it was coming but the truth of the matter is that I didn't believe I would ever be this separated from him. Sure James Potter was his best friend now, but I'd always be his favorite. The look I saw in his eyes broke my heart. There were tears and disappointment and like all the hope had just gone out of him. James gave him a sad smile rubbing his back while I walked across the Hall to sit with the rest of the Slytherins.
I purposely choose a seat where I can see him. Trying to catch his eye the whole speech Dumbledore gives us. Finally towards the end of the feast I do catch his eye and he looks at me with total disdain and I have to fight to hold back a scream. I want to fight for my brother right there but I can’t, I’ve spent the whole dinner listening to older students tell me how glad they are to know I’m not like my brother.
Narcissa is the prefect leading us to the common room. As we go down it gets increasingly chilly, not uncomfortably but I know there has to be a charm to fix it. The dungeons themselves remind me of Grimmauld place dark and chill. It’s almost enough to make me sick, and I have to remind myself that she’s not here.
“Pureblood,” Narcissa proclaims to a seemingly normal wall and a passageway opens up. a snake sliding right out of the ground. I probably look like a child the way my face lights up.
“Welcome to Slytherin.” Cissy smiles. It's the same one she wears at parties, not the ones that get shared when we sneak snacks from the kitchens. “Girls we are on the left and Boys are on the right.”
I take a few steps for the dormitories and the stairs slide right together, causing me to come crashing down.
“Alright, who did that?” Bella screeches from behind me.
“Regina was the only one on the steps.” Crouch JR laughs
“Shut It!” Bellatrix starts to reach for her wand.
“No Bella, it's alright.” I sigh “I I was the only one on the steps.” My face heats up. I've never told anybody and I won’t start now. “The castle is just confused.” I try to laugh it off.
“It’s alright” Evan smiles, “She can stay with us. Right Barty?” He gives Crouch a pointed look.
Crouch nods, face serious now.
“Alrighty that is settled.” Cissy looks perturbed. “Everyone off to bed.” She nods at Bella and me. “Can we talk?”
“Bella this news can’t get out. Regina, you know that right?” She looks at us. At me; of course I know that, she doesn’t even know what she is talking about. “Whatever is going on we’ll figure it out.” She touches my shoulder “Don’t worry."
Bella just nods. “I’ll handle clean up.” She smiles and all I see is my mother. ‘“Now off to bed Gina”

“What did you just call her?” Sirius’ voice booms in my ears.
“She hasn’t told you, Black," Snape sneers. “Your sister is a freak, can't even get into the girls' dorms.”
Before Sirius can draw his wand, Severus is forced back into a wall. Well I’ve slammed him into a wall. Just as Siri's hex hits him, McGonagall walls around the corner.
“Sirius!” McGonagall's voice is shrill. I try to open my mouth but he just steps back on my foot, bowing his head. “We do not hex other students 20 points from Gryffindor and 3 weeks detention. Mr. Snape Go visit Madame Pomfrey.”
As soon as Severus is around the corner I speak up. “Professor it was me, I hexed him.” My voice is shaky. “Mr. Black was just trying to defuse the situation.” I take a deep breath hoping against all hope, this will all be dropped. Sirius should accept my getting him out of detention as an answer and we will be done.
“Ms. Black that was a brilliant effort but, I assure you, you also have detention,” She almost laughs, “I did happen to watch you punch, Mr. Snape. Friday night my classroom, both of you at 6 p.m.” She shakes her head.
“Gina-” Siri starts.
“Reg, we’re going to be late.” Pandora walks up behind me, Barty and Evan steps behind her.
“Yeah, I thought you were going to meet us in class,” Barty laughs, “we were ‘too slow’ “ He mocked my voice making me start laughing.
“I’ll see you Friday.” I say to Sirius as I walk off.
“The cat’s out of the bag now.” Evan looks at me worried.
