Work Text:
Tommy was done. He was tired, just so tired. Of Dream, of the pain, of everything. Just then Dream himself walked through the portal.
“Hello Tommy, you should put your armor in the hole.” He said walking towards Tommy as he emerged from his mine.
“No, why would I do that?” Tommy questioned slowing backing away towards his tent, “I worked hard for this.”
“Then you can get it again.” Dream explained as though it was common sense. Moving quickly, he grabbed Tommy by the wrist, stopping him before he could get too far.
“Don’t make me ask again.” Dream said as he told Tommy to put his armor in the hole. “Neither of us will enjoy the consequences.”
Tommy tried to get out of Dream’s grasp before Dream sharply slapped him on the cheek, “Don’t be difficult and make this hard for me right now. I swear this is hurting me more than it could be hurting your right now. Just do as I say and put your things in the hole so that we can move past this.”
Tommy froze in shock as this was the first time Dream seriously hit him compared to his usual ‘friendly’ shoves. Tears welled up in his eyes as he remembered how exhausted he was. He wanted to go to sleep and never wake up. Just die and be rid of everything.
In his fit of tiredness he realized he was angry under everything, so angry. At Dream for hurting him, at Tubbo for exiling him and choosing peace over him, and at everyone else for siding with Tubbo and staying silent.
He looked up at Dream with new-found fury and swung with the hand Dream hadn’t grabbed earlier. After the impact Dream bent over grabbing his nose as Tommy swung again and again.
Tommy being not fed well or at all for so long could only do so much damage so after a couple seconds Dream broke out of his initial shock from not expecting Tommy to fight back, much less hit him in the nose.
With rage in his eyes, frustration in his head, and blood dripping from his nose, Dream swung back. Him however had an axe to swing with, as it sliced across Tommy’s neck and blood started to pour.
Tommy fell back, his hands instinctively came to his neck as he tried to breathe in in a panic, just breathing in blood. His lungs try to cough, only to inhaling more blood. Spots dot his eyes as he sees Dream’s boots stalk away before everything fades he black.
