Work Text:
Barok heard the bell ring as he was setting down the wine glasses on the dining room table, next to the roast meal that he had prepared himself. He quickly pulled the apron above his head and hastily placed it onto the chair, rushing to go open the door.
“Happy new years!” Ryunosuke greeted him, smiling warmly, Kazuma standing behind him.
“Happy new years, Barok.” He greeted, nodding as they both entered the warm mansion, taking off their shoes and hanging their slightly snowed coats on the rack beside the door.
“I prepared dinner for us all.” He announced as they made their way into the dining area. “I’ve sent the housekeepers home for tonight,” Barok paused, not finishing the sentence, but the other two understood what he meant.
The three had been together for about 6 months now, Ryuu changing his mind about leaving for Japan at the last moment; deciding he would be more contempt staying with the two men he loved most in his life. They could not be public with their affections, of course, only their close friends and family such as the Mikotobas, Holmes and Iris knowing about their relationship. However, they spent many nights together at the Van Zieks mansion, relishing the moments they had to lie in eachothers arms.
Tonight was special however, it marked a new year of the three being together, and so they all mutually decided to spend the night at Barok’s.
…
They had almost finished their meal, Barok yet to serve the desert. The night had a warm and comfortable atmosphere, despite the frosted windows and heavy snow outside.
“This tastes amazing! Since when could you cook?” Kazuma asked, having just finished his plate of roasted potatoes and meat.
“I may be a noble but I’ve still been taught how to cook and clean.” Barok sighed, taking a sip of his wine.
Kazuma grinned, “I wish you would’ve invited us sooner though, I would've loved to see what you look like hard at work in the kitchen.”
Barok had no reply, and instead took another swig of the glass in his hand, his face slightly turning rose.
“Oh, he’s blushing!” Ryunosuke pointed out, giggling into the drink he was holding.
“Are you drunk, Ryuu?” Kazuma asked, the answer obvious to anyone with two eyes.
“No.” He leaned his head onto the dining table, still smiling from ear to ear, a warm blush present on his face.
Barok sighed, standing up and walking towards Ryunosuke’s chair, picking him up bridal style and walking over to the living room sofa to lie him down.
“My dear B-Barok is holding me!” He chortled, wrapping his arms around the other man's neck.
And as Barok leaned down to place Ryunosuke on the sofa, Ryuu pulled his neck towards him, placing a sloppy kiss on the older man’s jaw.
Barok reciprocated, kneeling beside the sofa and giving Ryunosuke more kisses on the corners of his lips and his neck, making the drunk Ryuu giggle even harder. He paused when he felt two arms wrap around his neck.
“What about me, hmm?” Kazuma asked, nuzzling into Baroks neck from behind.
Barok stood up, throwing his arms around Kazuma and placing small pecks onto his nose and mouth.
Kazuma pulled back. “How about we go to bed now?”
“I feel it's too soon. Besides, I haven't served the cake I made yet.” He paused, in thought, “Let me go grab tea, and you keep Ryuu company while I prepare it.”
“Alright then.” Kazuma smiled, quickly pressing a kiss onto Baroks lips, before releasing his arms from around the other man's waist to join Ryunosuke on the sofa.
…
As Barok returned from the kitchen back into the living room holding a tea tray, the sight that he was met with warmed his heart.
Kazuma and Ryuu were snuggled against each other, and while Ryunosuke was fast asleep on the other man’s chest, Kazuma had his lips pressed against the crown of Ryuu’s head, his hand softly stroking his shoulder.
He looked up when Barok entered the room though, smiling as he sat next to him, handing him a small cup of tea.
Neither of them said much, just appreciating the ambience of the fireplace along with the warmth it provided, Kazuma’s head resting on Barok’s shoulder.
“Do you want to retreat to bed now?” Barok whispered, to not wake Ryuu.
Kazuma nodded, yawning slightly. And so Barok stood up, scooping up his asleep boyfriend in his arms. Ryuu didn’t wake, but he slightly stirred, nuzzling against Barok’s chest in his sleep.
When they arrived in Baroks bedroom, Barok slowly placed the man in his arms onto the middle of the bed, him and Kazuma promptly undressing into their sleeping gowns. Kazuma took off Ryuunosuke’s blazer and trousers, leaving him in his unbuttoned white shirt.
Once the two finished changing, they both crawled into bed, on either side of Ryunosuke. They took to their usual position, both resting on Ryu’s shoulders, Kazuma’s nose in the crook of his neck. Barok hummed contently, reaching his arm across Ryuu’s stomach onto Kazuma's forearm.
“Good night, Barok.” Kazuma whispered, slinging an arm onto Ryunosuke's waist, his fingers creeping up under his white shirt and onto the soft skin of his hip.
“Good night.” And with that Barok slowly closed his eyes, being lulled to sleep by the soft breathing of the two men besides him, as he could feel the gently rising and falling of Ryuu’s chest under his hand.
…
Ryuu slowly stirred awake, and despite the chill air he felt on the surface of his face, his body and arms were heavy and warm. It took him a while to realise that he was being cuddled by both Barok and Kazuma, both latching onto his arms against their chests in their sleep. Barok had one of his arms carelessly flung over Ryuu’s chest, his other arm holding Ryunosukes. Kazuma had Ryuu’s arm under him, like a pillow, and his hand was resting on Ryuu’s stomach, under his linen white shirt that was loosely unbuttoned.
Eventually, Barok also stirred awake.
“G-morning.” He groaned, his morning voice making his usual tone slightly deeper.
Ryuu didn't answer, and just turned his head towards the man, smiling sleepily as Barok held his jaw and placed a kiss onto the corner of his mouth, softly trailing them down his neck and onto his collarbone.
“Did you sleep well?” He asked, his lips brushing Ryuu’s neck lazily.
“Mmhm.” Ryuu replied, he slowly pulled his left arm from under Kazuma, bringing hid hand to Barok’s head and gently stroking the hair behind his ears. His eyes studied the other mans face like he had done so many times; his gaze tracing over Baroks scar and the soft lines of his forehead.
Barok seemed to appreciate the touch, faintly humming as Ryunosuke softly scratched his scalp under his hair.
Kazuma began to groan however, as Ryuu’s arm had disappeared from where he was resting, and so he instinctively clung onto Ryuunosuke's side, becoming impossibly closer than before.
Ryuu pulled his hand away from Baroks hair, placing it onto Kazuma’s back, as he ran his fingertips up and down the skin, feeling the muscles under his hand. Kazuma moaned under his breath, moving his hands higher under Ryuu’s shirt, brushing against the underside of his chest.
“We don’t have anything today, right?” Ryuu whispered, “Let's sleep in.”
“Good idea.” Barok replied, tilting his head up to slowly kiss Ryuunosuke, both of them lazily moving their lips against each other’s. “Kazuma here looks like he doesn't want to wake up.”
“I can hear… you two.” Kazuma mumbled against Ryunosuke’s shoulder, yawning. “Let’s sleep in. I’m very comfortable at the moment.” He swung his thigh onto Ryuu’s legs, his feet bumping into Baroks.
Ryunosuke placed a kiss onto Kazuma’s forehead, drifting back into sleep once again, his limbs entangled with the two men’s beside him.
