Work Text:
Kieran removed his glasses and placed them atop the table–letting out a long sigh. His eyesight was perfectly fine but he supposed he had gotten used to wearing them after months of posing as an archivist.
No, he no longer worked in the precinct. He was an art teacher at a school now, and no this wasn't another undercover pretense.
This was real.
His twenty four year old self wouldn't even have thought that he'd be anything other than an assassin. Heck, that he'd even live past twenty five but his fate had been merciful.
Or in simpler terms because he had her.
She was the only reason he was walking freely and not rotting in one of the cells like other members. Yeah, maybe his contribution in taking down phantom scythe played a role as well, but he knew that it was because he had protection of Lauren.
He never thought he deserved a second chance–never wanted to live after taking down the leader if it weren't for her.
He was ready to rot in prison for his crimes, because there was no future for him, but she convinced him otherwise.
If you want to repent for your crimes, you can't do that sitting in the prison cell all day.
And so he dedicated himself to rebuilding the society and helping out the orphans of the slums. There was still a lot to repiece since the monarchy was also overthrown but slowly they were working towards it.
The moonlight beamed through the window and he let out a smile–opening his sketchbook and momentarily closing his eyes to recall the faces of the children he had met earlier. The hope still shined brighter in their eyes and he wanted to give them a reason to hold onto that.
His hands worked mechanically as he got to work, and brought their faces to life–preserving their humanity. He didn't know how long he carried on like this–he only remembered a glaring light on his face and his eyes flickered open to find that it was sun rays.
Shit.
He must have fallen asleep while sketching.
Stretching his arms and legs, he let out a small yawn before remembering the day.
Oh fuck.
What time was it?
Checking the watch on the wall, he realised it was little after eight and mentally cursed. He was late. This was the downside of having uneven sleep patterns. His doctor had suggested some pills before that, but he didn't want to get addicted to any of that crap.
Taking a quick but thorough shower, he pulled out a stripped shirt and sleek pants before putting on his overcoat. Tying up his hairs into the signature bun, he put on a pair of sunglasses before grabbing a overnight bag.
Not too shabby in such a short time.
He shut the door to his apartment and walked as fast as his legs could carry. He just hoped the detective wouldn't be too mad. Oh, who was he kidding, he was half an hour later, she was going to be furious.
It took him less than ten minutes to reach her.
She was dressed up in her typical attire of shirt, skirt and a plaid coat with the hat that looked adorable on her. He chuckled nervously as her eyes met him, and he found them simmering with unpleasantness.
"You are late."
Adjusting his own hat, he tried to play it cool. "Oh come on, darling, it's not everyday we have to travel outside the city, I needed to search for my best outfit."
She gave him a quick once over, raising an eyebrow as if to say that's what you call best, before motioning in front.
"Lets go, the train is already at the platform."
They walked side by side and Kieran couldn't help but steal quick glances at her because he was worried. Lauren only took the train on rare occasions, as the remnants of that incident still lingered deep inside. He supposed some wounds left their scar forever.
They climbed on the carriage one by one and spotted their seats almost right away. Taking off his hat and shades he got comfortable in his seat but found Lauren fidgeting with her hands.
She wouldn't voice it out loud but after years he knew the woman like the back of his hand.
Clearing his throat, he leaned closer to her and put on his stupid smile.
"You look absolutely dapper today. Have the people of this city bored you enough that you are seeking a suitor in Nehmis?"
Her head snapped fast in his direction and she blinked twice, mouth parting open.
"I– why would you ever think that?"
Shrugging his shoulders, he continued. "I mean you are 25. Practically an old maiden in societal terms, surely you must–"
She pinched his forearm hard and he had to hold in a wince as she glared at him. "I am not old. Nor do I want to date someone for that matter."
The second statement shouldn't have given him the relief it did. He knew that she was a lonesome creature and chased away any potential suitors which pleased a part of him but he still dreaded the day that could change.
Yeah, yeah, he was pathetic and in love with this woman for a long time. He also knew it would never amount to anything fruitful. This was why he was simply grateful to have her in his life. He liked the easy companionship they shared, that allowed him to be himself. They had been strictly platonic for years–well except that one time but they never talked about that night. It was an unspoken rule between the two. It was old news anyways.
It was easier to keep this friendship than test the waters and risk what they had.
"Poor Tristan. His hair must be greying with worry for your future now."
"Will you shut up?"
On the cue, the train whistled before taking off slowly and he sighed. At least now he wouldn't have to worry about her welfare. This wasn't their first rendezvous outside the city together, so he knew her panic lasted only at the station.
"Kieran?" He turned towards her and found that rare soft smile gracing her lips as she squeezed his hand and his heart let out a wild thump.
"Yeah?"
"Thank you." His clever detective managed to figure out his intentions after all. There were no other words needed and all he could do was offer her a smile of his own.

"You rented an entire house?" Lauren's face filled with utter astonishment as they stood in front of the cozy home.
"Technically it's a cabin. Plus this is much better than a last minute booking into a sleazy room." He remembered the last two times they had to leave the city, they were forced to spend it in a dilapidated motel due to the places being full. The mosquitoes had a feast sucking his blood the whole night and he wasn't about to become their dinner once again. In addition to that, they had to feign being a married couple because unmarried people weren't allowed to stay at the inn. Yeah, not that progressive but they had no choice.
So he took it upon himself to do some advanced booking this time. It was an affordable, beautiful place plus the lake really added to the surreal atmosphere. Not that he'd ever admit the last part to Lauren.
"I didn't know you were such a diva." Lauren muttered to herself as she followed him and Kieran let out a fake gasp.
"A diva? You wound me, mi amor. I just wanted to make sure you were comfortable enough."
"Uh huh, sure."
He knew she detected the lie but couldn't help himself.
The place wasn't too grand and consisted of two rooms attached to the living room and Kieran was grateful for that small mercy. It wasn't easy bunking in the same room as her on their previous trysts.
"Make yourself comfortable, detective. You can choose any room you want."
"God Kieran, this place must have cost a fortune. You are going to let me pay for half of it."
It wasn't a question and before he could come up with a response he found her walking into one of the rooms. Alright then.
They spent the entirety of the afternoon coming up with the possible locations the apostle sixth might be hiding. Yes, while it was true they took down the organization, a couple apostles had managed to run and go into hiding, so they made it their mission to trace them down. So far they had brought in two of them, and this sixth was the last and most difficult to find until now. He hoped their intel was right.
"Don't burn down the kitchen."
"Ok, first of all that was once. And I am not a horrible cook!"
Kieran decided not to dignify that with response for her own sake, as he took the spatula from her hand. Yeah, he had heard all about her cooking disaster from her uncle Tristan.
"Let me handle this. You can chop off the vegetables. I assume that is something you can do without any mishaps?"
The glare she shot him was enough to burn down a house but Kieran was used to it.
He decided to make some tortillas as well since he had brought a supply of extra flour for a day. Thankfully, Lauren was much better at cutting off veggies as she passed them to him.
"Your face."
"Huh?" He noticed her slight smile as she motioned around.
"You got a little flour on your cheek."
He rubbed at a spot and she shook her head, before bringing her hand to gently wipe near his right cheek. He couldn't help it. His heartbeat increased at her touch and he had to swallow as she cleaned him up.
It was only for a couple seconds but felt like eternity. He remembered the only other occasion she had ever touched his face so gently–the only time he had the luxury to feel her soft curves as they–
Shaking his head, he pushed that memory away.
"There. All gone." She announced, unaware of her effect on him and Kieran had to mentally slap himself to get over it.
Stop being so pitiful!
Once they were done eating and cleaning up, they headed out for what they came to do initially.
It was another night that was going to be sleepless but Kieran had no complaints at all. As long as he got to spend them with Lauren, he was content staying in the worst of circumstances.
It took hours of running around and talking to people before they were able to land a solid lead. Since Lauren was now a lieutenant herself, she used her badge to take assistance from the local police and by the time the dawn arrived, they were able to capture the man.
He had been planning to flounder offshore for good and they were just in time as his ferry was supposed to take off tomorrow evening.
Kieran felt the weight of exhaustion as they entered the cabin sometime after 5 am. They ate the leftovers from the previous evening before crashing into their respective bedrooms.
Kieran wasn't usually a heavy sleeper but the constant travel and the walk in the city for hours had taken its toll on him. Plus, he was not as agile and flexible as his assassin days and his lifestyle wasn't the same as before.
Except from sparring with Lauren every now and then and these occasional Lune missions he didn't get much workout. Gym wasn't simply enough to match up the hard training he used to partake in.
He didn't know when sleep invaded him in the midst of the plaguing thoughts and he found himself drifting into a peaceful slumber.
He felt the gentle touch on his chin, and a soft press of lips against his forehead and let out a smile.
"Good morning."
Pair of golden eyes greeted him and he couldn't help but smile as he pulled her close.
"Hey, you." He nestled close to her warmth, not wanting to let go and heard a chuckle leave her lips.
"You are gonna be late for work, professor. Get up."
"But I just want to stay here with you." Groaning, he buried his face in her neck and heard her sigh as she ran her hand through his hairs.
"I have to work too."
"Quit."
She laughed again, hitting his forearm playfully as he leaned back to stare at her.
"I can't."
He loved the faint jasmine smell of her hair and couldn't help but nestle his face into her thick locks.
"Kieran! I have to go."
"You are going to leave your husband like that?" He pouted and watched her roll her eyes at how dramatic he was.
Wait
Husband…
Husband?
When did they marry?
Last he remembered they were–
Turquoise eyes stirred open and it took him a few seconds to realise that he was having a dream. A dream in which he and Lauren were married.
Fuck.
This was what he needed. Great. Just fucking great.
As if being in love with her wasn't enough, he just had to have this ridiculous dream too.
He had come to terms with his feelings a long time ago. It was pretty easy when he was ready to die just so she could live, and he realized the depth of those emotions. It took time to process but once he got over the turmoil it got easier to be around her. He had accepted it long ago that nothing more would ever be between them.
The memories of that night came tumbling back to him and he tried to push it into the back of his head. That was a mistake–a momentary lapse in judgement from both of their ends. It wouldn't happen again. He had spent enough nights replaying that kiss in his head, but he thought he was over it. Over this… whatever it is.
Why was he having such a dream then? Was it because they were in such close vicinity? Was it because the previous day they cooked and sat together in this cozy house and he saw a glimpse of what their life could look like together?
A moment of domesticity and he was all but losing his mind. He needed some distance. Yeah, after finishing the remaining obligation with the precinct, they'd leave.
He really must have been out of his mind to book a damn cabin for them. He was just glad that Lauren was too thick headed in such matters to ever interpret it as something less than platonic.
Later that day, he only focused on the talk about the data they gathered, trying to keep his sanity in control.
"I am surprised you didn't propose a boating detour on that lake." Lauren teased and he awkwardly gave a shrug.
"We didn't come here for that."
At that she kept quiet and Kieran hated himself for not entertaining her. But it was necessary.
It took them quite a while at the precinct and once they were done, they decided to stop by a small restaurant to fill their stomachs. Once they placed their orders, he could feel Lauren's gaze silently settled on him but she didn't say a word.
Maybe she was waiting for the right opportunity. He hoped not.
"Don't I know you two?" Perching his head, he found a middle aged lady who looked strangely familiar. He looked towards Lauren who looked entirely uncomfortable and wondered why was that?
"Oh yes! Mr. and Mrs. White! You stayed at my inn a few months back."
Shit. This city was really small.
"Yes, how are you doing, Ms. Shaw?"
He was surprised that Lauren even remembered her name.
"Pretty good. Cameron, make sure to put extra care into their meal. I know them. Nice couple." She laughed and relayed to the owner, who was seemingly her good friend and Kieran cursed mentally.
The lunch was a weird affair as Ms. Shaw took the seat next to them and engaged into small talk. He kept to himself for the most part so Lauren had to entertain her, and he could sense her growing frustration at the pile of lies.
We have been married for a year.
We absolutely love this city so we had to revisit it.
He took a sigh of relief once they were done as they approached the exit. Lauren didn't look any better as she followed, both wanting to drop the pretense.
"Oh what luck, you two."
He paused, and noticed the woman pointing on the top of their heads and had to do a double take at the mistletoe. Lauren mimicked his expression as their eyes met.
Who the hell put a mistletoe there? It wasn't even Christmas.
"We don't believe in this." Kieran clarified moving to gather his coat as the old lady tched.
"Nonsense! You can't reject the tradition of the mistletoe. It brings bad fortune."
Seriously?
"I am afraid my husband is too shy to kiss in front of others." Lauren tried to cover up and he expressed his gratitude, hoping that should do it, but no. The lady was relentless.
"Come on, what kind of a man can deny a beautiful wife like you?"
Fates must not be in his favor today. First the dream then this. If he believed in God, he would have thought they were playing a cruel joke on him.
Lauren fidgeted with her hands, and he caught a strangely demure expression on her face. So, be it. Catching her forearm, he leaned close and placed a hand on the side of her face to shield their mouth.
"I am sorry."
"It's fine." She murmured and he placed his hand over her soft lips–whose memory was still engraved clearly before kissing her. Even though there was a barrier between the two, he felt his heart pound wildly in that moment.
It lasted for two seconds and then he was pulling away, making Lauren open her eyes in disarray. She inhaled deeply, and forced a smile as the lady and the owner smiled.
"That was beautiful, you guys."
Saying their hurried goodbye, they both stepped out and Kieran couldn't help but walk hastily.
He needed to get away.
Someone somewhere was playing a sick joke on him as the rain started to come down in heavy downpour.
No matter, they were leaving today even if the sky fell down.
"Great. This was the only remaining outfit I bought."
"That's fine. We'd be leaving today anyways."
"I thought we were supposed to leave the next morning."
"Change of plans."
He found her looking at him funny then and avoided her eyes.
"Is something going on with you?"
"Nope."
She paused, sidestepping him to block his path and he sighed. "You have been off since the morning."
"I was only focusing on what we came here for. There's nothing wrong, Lauren."
The expression on her face told him that she didn't believe a word he said and it dawned on him she could hear lies. Fuck, he was really out of it.
"What's wrong?"
"It will pass." He forced a smile that didn't quite reach her eyes and found her looking at him in concern.
"Are you sick?" She moved to place her hand over his forehead and she had barely grazed his skin when he pulled back.
"I am n-not. Let's just head back before we get further drenched." He increased his pace and found her following him with her hawk-like eyes. Why did she have to be a human lie detector? Hell, why did he have to go ahead and develop feelings for her?
The cabin wasn't that far from the precinct and Kieran just wanted to shut himself in his room, compose himself so he could face her properly once again.
They used their overcoats as a shield but it simply wasn't enough and by the time they neared the cabin, they were soaked to the bones.
"Wonderful!" Kieran exclaimed with annoyance as they walked down the cobbled path towards the cabin.
"I am sorry."
Did he hear it right? Angling his frame, he looked at her with confusion and found her avoiding his eyes.
"What?"
"For what happened earlier. In case that's adding to your unpleasant mood."
Was she out of her mind?
Halting completely, he faced her properly. "Lauren, I was the one who initiated the kiss. If anyone should be apologizing, it's me."
"... "
"What?" It was hard to hear her over the loud sound of the pelting rain and she repeated herself.
"I said it wasn't a kiss."
Falling into his natural ways came easy to him, so before he could stop himself the words were out of his mouth. "Oh my darling, If only I had known you'd want a proper one."
Lauren didn't laugh it off or get mad at him for that matter, as she licked the water off her lips. A peculiar expression crossed her face.
"Then what?"
"Huh?"
"What would you do, if you had known?"
That rendered him speechless, as he found heat creeping up his neck. Wh…what was she saying? Were his ears deceiving him?
"Did they mix something in your food before?" He tried to joke to settle his nerves and found her nostrils flare as she hissed.
"Is everything a joke to you?"
What? Before he could utter another word, he found her walking towards the cabin and chased her.
"I am confused, what is happening here."
"It's nothing. Forget I said a word."
Oh no.
Catching her wrist, he pulled her closer to him, studying her golden eyes to find the meaning behind the words.
"What do you mean, Lauren?"
"Nothing. I mean nothing. Ok? Leave it."
Like hell he would. He didn't want her to be upset because of him. Her eyes danced with that flare she got when something upset her.
"I did something wrong." He stated and was perturbed to find her laugh drily at that.
"It's two years too late for that."
All the air left his lungs as he sensed–or rather deducted what she was referring to.
They… he thought it was mutual what happened. His palm grew clammy as even the thought of her not wanting it while he–
It made him want to puke.
"I.. " He started with difficulty. " I thought you wanted it. You initiated it, Lauren, I- I must have misjudged, if that's true I am extremely sor–"
"Oh my god. You are an insolent fool." She groaned, pushing the wet strands of her red hairs away from her face and he found himself unable to reply. She must have noticed the clueless expression on his face as she shook her head with a bitter laugh.
"I meant quite the opposite. I thought we…" Taking a deep breath, she stepped back. "I thought it meant something, but you were so quick to dismiss it the next day." There was underlying sadness in his voice. "I- never mind, I was the one who misjudged."
His chest felt tight as he finally finally got the meaning of her words. Did that mean she wanted to explore where that would take them? Kieran remembered dismissing it back then and Lauren hadn't said a word and next thing he knew she had been ramped up with work. The next time they talked it was as if that kiss never happened, so Kieran had discarded it as such.
He never knew that…
He found her heading towards the entrance and once again blocked her path–his breath coming in short spatters.
"Lauren, I…you know nothing can happen between us."
"Yeah, I got the message." She looked straight into his eyes and breathed out, and he found himself unsettled.
"You deserve someone better."
"You have no right to decide what I want." She took a looming step towards him, and he found his breath hitch in the throat at their proximity.
"Who are you trying to convince? Me or yourself?" The question left her lips in a whisper, and he found his heartbeat accelerating if that was even possible. Why was she doing this? Why now? Was it because the work of Lune was truly over and they didn't have any incentive to work together?
"Lauren, please, just…"
He found her getting closer if that was even possible, as she stared up into his eyes. "You don't have feelings for me?"
There wasn't a word made to describe everything he felt for her, but he couldn't say that.
"The past is in the past. Why do you still let it hold you back?"
"I don't." Lie. He winced when he saw her recognize it as she shook her head.
"Do you truly not want this?"
Their chest brushed against each other, and Kieran was hanging by a single thread as he looked into her delectable face. If he just leaned a little lower, their lips would brush against each other and if that happened he wasn't too sure, he could come back from it.
"Lauren…it's not right."
"Say that you don't want me." Her hot breath grazed his face before she wiped off the rain droplets from his cheeks and he had to hold in a shiver at her touch. "I want to hear it."
She knew what she was doing. She knew that he wanted her with every living breath and wanted him to accept that. His traitorous body deceived him and he knew she could feel it being pressed against him like that. Her hand came to tuck the wet strands of his hair behind the ear as she rasped. "We don't have all day, subordinate. Say it."
That word. It elicited something inside him and before he could comprehend what he was doing, his lips crashed on hers.
Kieran’s hands cupped her face as his mouth molded against hers, his tongue sweeping past her lips with desperation. The way he had missed her taste. He couldn’t hear anything beyond the rush of blood in his head and the onslaught of the rain. Above them, the sky was split apart by lightning, the wind snatching at their wet clothes and hair in an absolutely torrid manner. Kieran's fingers slipped into her hair as his body pressed tight to hers–his mouth releasing hers as his teeth bit her bottom lip. He opened his eyes to see her hair plastered to her forehead and rain dripping down her beautiful face.
"I knew it."
"Nothing escapes your eyes huh, detective?"
She gave a drunken smile, enjoying her victory and possibly the sway she had on him before pulling his lips against hers.
"Patience, darling." His voice came out in a husk between kisses as she yanked his hair out of his loose bun, before biting down his lower lip.
"I have been patient long enough."
Fair point.
Grabbing her waist, he lifted her up–too urgent to cover the distance to the cabin, so he ended up backing her against a tree. Separating for a moment to discard their coats felt like a torture for him, and he was reaching out for her again–greedy in his touch as he laved at her skin.
Lauren's head fell back against the tree as his mouth explored lower, his hands moving to grip her hips as his head dipped down, and he trapped a nipple through the fabric of her shirt.
Lightning cracked above them, the thunder fast on its heels, and he opened his eyes to see the sky was nothing but heavy black clouds.
"Hurry up." She urged, grinding against him as his palm skimmed beneath her shirt and up her body–his fingers gripping the weight of her breast.
Fuck, every inch of her was beautiful.
Lauren didn't have time for this as she grabbed the hem of his shirt before ripping the buttons of the soaked cotton to feel his naked skin.
"That was one of my favorite pieces."
"I will buy you new one." She whispered before nibbling on his earlobe, pulling him back into her gravity. He used his body to pin her to the tree–groping her soft mounds as their lower bodies rubbed against each other shamelessly.
He had dreamed of this moment for so long–always feeling a surge of guilt for even thinking of her that way, but it eased him to know he wasn't the only one.
Lauren was seemingly done with foreplay as she brought his hand to rest on her lower thigh–moving his hand down her skirt and he got the message.
"Lauren, do you wan–"
"Yes. Yes." She repeated for emphasis–giving him permission to continue without any questions and who was he to deny her that.
He bunched her skirt around her waist and grabbed her hips again a second later to lift her knees to lock over his shoulders.
"Kier–" Her words were lost the second his hands pulled her panties down and covered her pussy with his mouth.
She tasted better than he imagined. When his tongue slid inside her body, she laid back on the bark of the tree holding his head between her thighs in a dead grip.
“Oh, God....”
He could feel the clouds swirl above their heads, but he didn’t care. All he wanted to see and feel was her. His fingers gripped tighter into the soft flesh of her hips, his lips closing down on her clit, the hard suction making her moan out.
That's more like it. That's what he wanted to hear.
With every swirl of his tongue, he could feel her bucking against him and had to grab her ass and shove her back up, her knees tightening over his shoulders as he circled her clit with his tongue, and he could feel her form shake against him. He repeated the motion, pressing on that spit until she was a but a putty. She convulsed on his tongue in rapid short waves and he didn't hesitate in tasting all of her.
Her knees closed on the sides of Kieran's head as his tongue slid inside her and licked her aftershock.
Despite the rain, his body was burning up, his face flush and skin painfully tight. He was too sensitive and felt like he could burst at a single touch from her. His mouth pulled away from her pussy, and he glanced up at her. She looked like a fiery goddess with her long hair tousled down her shoulders in wet waves–liquid gold eyes full of heat as they stared down at him.
Kieran smiled beneath her, getting up slowly to place his forehead over hers. "Five minutes…" She made a confused sound as he let out a throaty laugh. "I told you it was enough to make you cum, love."
He wondered if she remembered his teasing remark from long ago–judging by her flustered expression she did.
"Seriously?"
Placing a long kiss on her lips, he tried to pull back but she wouldn't let him.
"Where are you going?"
"Inside since we are don–"
Kissing him to effectively shut him up, Lauren's fingers moved to unbutton his pants and he had to pull away.
"Lauren, what…"
"We are not even."
Oh for fucks sake. He should have known she'd be competitive here as well.
Caging her against his arm, he nuzzled her cheek. "This is one game you can't win, love."
"We'd see about that." She didn't seem deterred at all as she shoved his pants and briefs down his thigh before rubbing her wetness against him. Kieran had to slam a hand against the rough bark as a jolt of pleasure shot up his spine. The reaction didn't go unnoticed by Lauren who crooned his cock against her opening.
"Fuck me." It was a sentence he'd never expect to hear from her. Not even in his darkest of dreams, did she ever speak those words. Since, she asked so politely, he was obliged to fulfil her wish. But not before taking a moment to cherish the sight before him.
"You are beautiful." He couldn't help the words tumbling out of his lips in that moment, because he just had to let her know she was inside out before going any further. The way the rose dusted her cheeks and she tried to turn her head to hide her reaction made him adore her more if that was even possible.
"J-just move, subordinate." She tried to play it off rubbing her wetness over him–making him lightheaded with that sensation.
Alright.
One of his hands splayed on her back to shove her back to the tree, while his other grabbed her thighs to pull her legs apart. Locking that same hand over her hip, he thrusted inside her with a slow, smooth motion–taking his time so she could get used to him.
He shut his eyes at the feel of hot silk around him. Fuck! She was so…
Hot, wet, tight, soft…
He had never thought that he could ever be connected with Lauren in such an intimate way. He'd had many partners before she came into his life and none of them could hold a candle to what he felt right there with her.
It was the first time he understood just how heavenly this could be when done with someone you love. Cradling her face between his hands, he kissed her sweetly, gently–pouring all his emotion and love into it, and she was quick to reciprocate. They stayed locked around each other just kissing and tasting each other and Kieran realised he could stay that way for eternity.
Lauren was the first to break off as she tried to glide against his length while raking her nails through his chest. "God, move!"
"Darling, I know I am good but calling me God is a bit farfet–"
"You arrogant jerk." Her hollowed voice rang against his mouth as he pushed further inside her–stretching her completely.
Her lips parted open as a guttural moan poured out–the sound carnal to his ears as he bottomed out.
“Fuck,” he growled beneath his breath and shoved her legs open wider, his thumb digging into the inner muscle of her thigh, his other hand gripped painfully over her hip to hold her in place as he pulled out and repeated the motion again.
Lauren's face was a sight he'd never forget. Her brows were pinched, swollen lips parted with ecstasy and he couldn't stop watching her. He had never thought he'd get to see her like this–losing herself so completely with him.
His pace was slow and luxurious, as he took his sweet time feeling her like this. The squelch of their bodies and obscene gasps filled the air as he filled her up over and over.
"Harder." She pleaded asked he didn't know, but it only made him drag through her walls as slowly as he could.
"You aren't ready for that."
At that, her eyes flared and she dug her nails into his back–clenching her muscles around him–eliciting a heavy moan from his lips.
"I'd taken bullets and dragged you seven blocks down your apartment. You think this can hurt me?" The last part made him lose that tether of control.
She wanted it hard, huh? He'd give her that.
Mouth to her ear, his voice was rough and barely controlled as he rumbled. "You gonna take it like my good girl, yeah?"
"I am not your good gi–"
Her words were replaced with loud moans as his cock slid into her body with long, strong strokes. Waves of ecstasy throbbed through him as he pounded into her, drawing a whimpering gasp from her with each thrust of his cock.
"Like that, darling?" Voice a dangerous whisper, he was panting against her ear, his hips moving faster, harder, driving his cock deeper as he licked the column of her neck.
"Y-yeah…" she gasped, her back arching as she wrapped her legs around him, pulling him deeper within her, her hips undulating against him with hunger. Another hard thrust inside drove a moan up her throat, his fingers tightening down in response to the sound, the trees surrounding them creaking as a hard gust of wind ripped at their branches.
He rammed into her, each demanding stroke unfurling another bloom of heat from between her legs until all his senses were plagued by her and he was nothing but a vessel for pleasure, brazen with need. He leaned over her, hooking his arm around her waist to hold her against him as he skewered her on his cock, his lips seeking her skin, pressing against any part of her within his reach.
"Lauren, you feel so… " He was too overwhelmed–her tongue on his skin sending consuming heat through his form, She writhed, gasping and moaning–meeting up his hips in unison while tracing the droplet of water down his neck.
A particular thrust against her sensitive spot made her arch her back so that her stomach was flushed against his own. Lauren wasn't one for much words during sex, but Kieran was determined to make her scream his name so he moved his fingers and reached between her legs, strumming her clit as he stroked into her, making her a panting mess.
She cried out as he did it again, reaching back towards the bark of the tree as his finger and cock moved in unison to take her over the edge.
Her hips bucked against him as the inferno within her roared and moans of Kieran's name resonated around them. She got impossibly tight around him, coming around him in fluttering waves as he groaned. Fucking her hard, he became desperate for his own release. Burying his face into her neck, his breath came in short gasps as he pulled out and exploded on her stomach–his hips pulsing forward until he emptied himself with a dizzying climax.
Cold rain ran down his back–their mouths brushing against each other as they caught their breath. Only once he felt like he could breathe again, he opened his mouth.
"If only all our lune tryst ended this way."
Lauren's only answer was to smack his chest.
━━━━━━━✿━━━━━━━
His eyes fluttered open and he realised it was because of the faint touch on his back. Yawning, he began to turn and found Lauren pulling back her hand, as he faced her.
"Good morning." His voice came out groggy with sleep, as she pulled the covers up to cover her tits.
"I have seen it all, love. What are you hiding?"
Rolling her eyes, she moved on her back but not before he found a faint blush on her cheeks. Cute.
The morning sun shone bright in the sky and Kieran realised the rain must have finally stopped. To no one's surprise, they hadn't been able to leave yesterday, but luckily found a… pleasurable way to occupy themselves. They had years of tension to makeup for, so they hadn't been able to keep their hands off of each other until they were exhausted to the bones.
Kieran was glad that he booked a solitary cabin because the loud moans he urged out of her lips later on his bed were…
Smiling smugly to himself, he got up. Lauren pretended to be resting so he gave her a quick chaste kiss on her forehead, before leaving the bed. And just because he was feeling a little sinful, he didn't bother putting on any item of clothing as he walked into the bathroom buck naked.
He could feel her eyes on him and resisted the urge to laugh.
Kieran wished he could stay another day and another and another with her here, but that wasn't impossible. Turning on the shower, he quickly started cleaning himself up, mentally noting to leave as early as possible. Lauren needed to submit her report to the preci–
A gasp escaped his lips and he opened his eyes to find Lauren in front. Her hand gripped his length and started working it up and down, as he hissed with pleasure.
"Lauren, what…"
He hadn't even sensed her coming–too lost in his thoughts.
No. She was that stealthy.
"Shhh… " Placing a finger on his lips, she got on her knees and Kieran's leg almost gave out at the sight.
"Let me do this. You have done enough."
She leaned forward, wrapping her fist around his shaft as she ran her tongue around the head of his cock, swallowing his precum before taking him into her mouth.
A violent shiver ran up his skin at the feel of her soft lips against him. Last night he'd been focused on her pleasure and even though she made him cum with just her hands, he hadn't let her go down on him. Making her fall apart in his arms had been his priority.
The flat of her tongue ran against him as she bobbed her head in rhythm with the pumping of her fist. Kieran couldn't breathe–his eyes drifting shut as she ran her tongue along his shaft, flicking it against his sensitive skin as her soft, full lips dragged behind, then resumed sucking him again, making him weak in his knees.
Fuckfuckfuck.
Her mouth was magic as she worked his base with her fist and sucked the rest of him in slow, delightful motion.
It didn't take him long before he found himself on the edge and pulled her mouth off of his cock as he pumped it hard. Lauren's hand curled around his own to draw him close as she urged him.
"You can come on me."
Throwing his head back as the maddening orgasm snuck up his being, he finished over her stomach and breast in thick ropes.
That had been...
He had no words for how good it felt as he caught his breath.
His legs felt like jelly once he was done but he was quick to clean off Lauren before drawing her close to him under the warm spray of shower.
"That…was certainly unexpected." He looked at her fondly before leaving a brief kiss on her lips.
He heard a low chuckle from her mouth, as her eyes twinkled with a familiar glint he couldn't place his finger on.
"Six to six. Now, we are even."
What did she–
Oh.
Now he got it. So that was what this was about.
He should have known she'd never let him win.
Fuck, he loved his competitive detective.
