monroe's mother calls him for the first time in thirteen years to tell him that his father is dead. things go about as well as monroe expects (and by that, he means that the term 'shitstorm' isn't unwarranted).

first of all this was fantastic, unfortunately they remind me a bit of the wilder reaches of (frankly both sides of) my own family, and this was something of a cathartic read. second of all Dutch Brothers is so crazy in-character that i gasped aloud. third of all i love you
