Duncan is staring at him from behind the kitchen island. He is wearing his usual uniform of loose-fitting chef’s pants and thin tee shirt, logo faded; tight across the chest in a way that denotes well-worn, not stylized. Topped, of course, with his green apron.
And he has the gall to look at Aerion, half-frozen, and make a joke of all things.
Aerion can feel the snow build up slipping under his collar, pooling down his back. He tosses his messenger bag on the bench.

Summary
