Summary
Scott blamed McDow entirely. He was the one who pushed Scott in the pool, and the one who had started pulling everyone else in along with him until the older guys showed up to see what the ruckus was about. Scott probably could have gotten away without Bennet ever knowing he couldn’t swim if it weren’t for that. He was good about staying where he could stand, or otherwise avoiding water entirely. It wasn’t his fault he was the only rookie that hadn’t scattered when Bennet had appeared by the poolside, not willing to risk drowning just to escape. If anything he should get points for that. He was good and well behaved, and Bennet had rewarded him for it by throwing him over his knee while Scott was still dripping wet. Now, a week later, Scott was still being punished.

Luca can only nod before he runs after Shane who is waiting by the entrance. The walk back to the car was silent.
“You were in there for a long time,” Ilya said. Shane started the car and shrugged.
“I don't know. There was a fan inside. I think… He was trying to hit on Luca.”
Luca called out Shane's name in betrayal while Ilya gasped pleased. “Solnishko, our son is all grown up! Getting hit on by pretty art boys.”
Luca could feel his face heat up as he groaned into his arms. “Shut up Ilya. I don't want to talk about this.”
Shane taped his fingers repeatedly against the steering wheel. Ilya spent the rest of the ride trying to get information out of Luca but he firmly kept his mouth shut.
