Summary
Being a demigod was scary, and mostly got you killed in very nasty ways.
The next monster you faced seemed to have all the ways she wanted to end your life written into her endless eyes as you stared up at them. After all this time chasing this formidable woman across the globe, she was finally in front of you, showing just how far she was willing to go to destroy the world. You really wanted to punch her in the face.
You tried to yank against the thick leather straps pinning your arms down to the steel table you lay on. Your fingers tingled, feeling like your whole arms fell asleep, unable to move them. You slowly felt the feeling in your arms drift away and your mind began to spiral, feeling deep panic spread like a disease from your brain to your lungs and to your stomach. Your eyes widened and the woman sneered and chortled, watching your face twist in fear.
You felt your mind darken, your thoughts becoming slowed and sluggish. There was only one thing you were thinking of as your mind went dark.

He’d had Ghost’s voice pouring into his ear for hours, somehow rough and smooth and smoky all at once, like the kind of Scotch he couldn’t really afford. And that voice, combined with the fatigue, the bone deep weariness, was starting to have the same effect as good Scotch on his resolve, on his fucking impulse control
Soap makes bad choices, no one knows when banter crosses the line into flirting, and their comms definitely shouldn't be used like that. Somehow, despite themselves, they make it work.
This is mostly porn, with feelings added for a bit of spice.

For a long time, the 141 has been exclusively birds.
This isn’t by design; a lot of those that choose to go spec ops are birds, or particularly well-suited breeds of dogs and cats, the occasional mustelid and, for one particular mission where they’d had to house a foreign unit, a very inconvenient bull. Usually, though, it’s animals that are good in small groups as well as large ones, groups that can form flocks and packs and colonies, respectively.
They are a flock, mismatched and odd though they are, and Ghost has always assumed that, should they welcome a fourth into their unit, for a trial run or otherwise, their prime candidates would be other birds.
