Summary
“Oh!” he says when he sees her. “You’re her. Jessica Jones, right?”
“Yeah,” she says, a little wary, more out of habit than because she thinks this guy is trouble.
“Foggy Nelson,” he says. “I work for Jeri Hogarth. I used to work with, um.” He swallows visibly. “With Matt.”

Summary
The envelope is delivered straight to Matt’s old apartment. Left on the floor outside the door. “TO THE 3 STOOGES,” it says in an angry scrawl across the front.
“Does it say who it’s from?” Luke asks, immediately worried about a threat.
Danny shrugs. “F.C.?”

Bookmarker's Notes
1.Jessica comes to look over his shoulder. She runs a hand over the page of highly detailed illustrations depicting various knots. “Someone who wants to tie Matt up really well.” She flips through the next few pages, each filled with similar diagrams. “Really, really well.”
2.“Hell if I know. It’s basically a How-To Manual for incapacitating Matt. Castle goes off here for about a page and a half about how the devil is essentially a very large, semi-competent four-year-old.”
“He’s not wrong.”
3.““DO NOT listen to the devil’s stupid ideas. DO NOT engage the devil in argument. I repeat, DO NOT engage. You’ll end up arguing with yourself for forty minutes.” A scoff. Luke goes off-book for commentary. “Written like someone who’s had the pleasure.” “Lawyers,” Jessica snarks. There’s a thin vein of nostalgia in her voice that shakes the whole room
4.Jessica says, once more with feeling, “I need a drink.” She needs to loose the itch in her shoulders, the one that screams it could carry Murdock’s weight along with his psycho ex’s out of the hole in the ground.
5.“It’s the ravings of a lunatic about how to hurt a friend,” Danny reminds the room.“It’s the ravings of a lunatic who wants to protect a friend.” Luke shrugs. “I’d say that says more about the raving lunatic than the friend he wants to protect.”“That he’s a raving lunatic?” Jessica suggests.
Luke dismisses her. “He’s meticulous. He’s attentive.”
“He’s obsessive.”“Actually,” Luke holds up the notebook as proof, “there’s a line in here about that. Apparently, it’s the devil who’s obsessed with him.“Uh huh. Matt’s got notebooks full of Punisher doodles just waiting to send out as death threats.” Right. -

Bookmarker's Notes
1.Danny doesn’t answer, coiled tight for action. He’s calculating the distance between them, gathering his chi or whatever the hell he does
2.“The Punisher what now?” Danny, with his usual impeccable timing, asks her, with a puzzled frown in his voice.
He might as well have shouted out to the entire world that he’s not Daredevil.3.Wait,” Jessica holds out a hand. “Just wait. You knew him, didn’t you?”That stops Castle. She can tell the exact moment what she’s saying, and her use of past tense, registers, because the air around the man stills, seemingly replaced by something colder than air, freezing him in place.
5.Somehow, Danny raging on Murdock’s behalf for something that didn’t happen seems to loosen Castle a little, as if that proves they’ve been all Murdock’s side all along, because Castle shrugs, an almost imperceptible movement of his shoulders. “You think Red could’ve done anything in his life that would really deserve a bullet from my gun?”
6., you must’ve known what he was like. You think this’s what he would’ve wanted?”“Never gave two shits what the Altar Boy wanted. No reason to start now that he’s—" he abruptly stops, trailing off.Castle lowers his head. His hand, now empty of its gun, shakes, balling up into a fist. He slams it on the brick ledge. Once. Twice. And again.
“This city. This fucking city,” he says, and each word rings hollow. “It fucking takes. And takes. Until there's nothing good left.”Castle watches his knuckles bleed. So does she.
“All of its dead. They were better than it ever deserved.”7.We’ve got plenty to deal with already, don’t we?” she tells Danny, flippant, but something hard forms at her chest, just the same. “There's no one stopping you,” she tells Castle.
“No,” Castle says, after a pause. It’s close to inaudible. “Not anymore, is there.”

Summary
Hunter wakes up in the Owl House with no memory of the past few days or how he got there. As he struggles to piece together what happened, the rest of the Owl House helps him realize that he might be missing more than just his memory—namely what it feels like to live in a safe and supportive environment where love isn’t conditional and parents don’t hurt their kids.

Bookmarker's Notes
1. He’s never felt unsure like this. He used to know exactly who he was: the Golden Guard, Uncle’s right hand man, a valuable member of the emperor’s coven, someone important to the Titan’s plans. For as long as he can remember, everything he’s ever done has been to help his uncle. Even researching wild magic and disobeying his orders—he’d just wanted to help his uncle overcome his curse. What else is he supposed to do? There’s nothing else he even can do. Without his place in the castle, he is nothing.
2.He feels so unfamiliar that it makes his skin crawl and he hates it so, so much. He wants to go back and erase all of this. It would be so much easier if he had never met the human at all. Or if Little Rascal had never chosen him. He could stop being Hunter and just be the Golden Guard all the time, and Uncle would be proud of him. Things would actually be good.
3. “My uncle loves me!” he shouts back, voice breaking. “I know he does! I’m—I’m special, to him. The Titan has big plans for me. Uncle cares about what happens to me, so he must love me.”
4.“Sure, but what does he love about you, huh?" She pokes his shoulder, and he sways with the motion. "About his nephew, not his coven head? Hunter, not the Golden Guard? Does he love how smart you are? How passionate? Does he love to listen when you talk? Or maybe he loves how strong you are, or how compassionate you can be when given the opportunity. What is it, kid? Because from what I can tell, he just loves your misplaced loyalty, you ability to complete a mission, your usefulness. And that’s not real love, Hunter. Real love isn’t conditional.”
“But it’s all I have"
5.Up here on solid ground, standing right behind him, is Belos and the coven, but if he just takes a single step forward, he’ll be plunging into the thick fog below. Luz and Eda swear that they’re down there, just below the cliff, ready to catch him if he falls, but he can’t see it. He wants to trust them, wants to believe that they’re there, but what if they’re not? What if jumping is the wrong choice? Or what if they do reach out and catch his hands before he falls but it’s too much for them, and he drags them down with him?
Hunter is brave, and he’s willing to risk a lot for the mission, but this is the scariest leap he’s ever considered.

Summary
Frank: Boy, it sure is weird to run into my lawyer in this gay bar I'm only at for recon because that pain in the ass, Daredevil, ruined my last lead. Come to think of it, Daredevil and Murdock show up together a lot. I better lie about who I am and ask this blind guy out so I can find his connection to Daredevil.
Matt: Boy, it sure is weird to run into the Punisher in this gay bar I'm only at to investigate this new coke trade, and it's even weirder that he asked me out. I better say yes so I can figure out what he's planning.
There is no way this could possibly go wrong.

Bookmarker's Notes
1.Whenever some two-bit villain or supernatural entity attacked the law offices of Nelson & Murdock—every month or so, as Frank had only been the first in a long line of their bad decisions
2.“Frank Castle?” he asked in a strangled voice, his heart pounding and his mouth sounding dry . “Matt. Buddy. Matt. Tell me you’re joking.“He introduced himself as Pete and bought me a drink,” Matt said, laughing at how ridiculous it all was. “He’s not a bad dancer, either.”“What the fuck, Matt?” Foggy asked helplessly.
7.Wow,” Matt said at a gap in the narrative. “I bet that makes you want to drag them out back and shoot them.”In Matt’s head, a phantom Foggy wailed his name like a Greek chorus warning him of the risk like he was about to dash his ship against the rocks. Matt smiled serenely as the server brought their food and relished the slight catch in Frank’s breath, the only reaction he’d gotten out of him all night.
8.Which meant—shit. Maybe they were related. Maybe that explained why Daredevil was up Nelson & Murdock’s collective ass.Yeah, said a deeply sarcastic voice in Frank’s head. Maybe he’s got a secret twin brother.
9.Like Elektra, Frank was driven. Violent. Murderous.Dangerously attractive.
12. “I’m pretty sure he thinks Daredevil is my abusive boyfriend.”“Foggy,” Matt said, and again. “Foggy. It’s not that funny.”Still giggling, Foggy righted himself and wiped his face on his sleeve. “Matt, buddy. I love you, but I am never letting you live this down.”
13.The conversation went through Frank’s head like water, flowing past shapeless and impossible to hold onto. Except he kept laughing at Matt’s jokes and not saying what he needed to say, opening his mouth every time Matt stopped to let him speak only to spout something bland and pointless. He found himself agreeing to a date mid-week at an art show
14.“He saved me,” Matt said. It wasn’t completely a lie; he’d been cornered, once, and had to fight his way out. In retrospect, Daredevil was born that night as much as he was on the night Matt’s father had died, as much as the first night Matt put on the suit.
15.On some level, Matt knew it was a stupid decision, an award-winning, record-breaking, world-class, stupid fucking decision
16.“I—I’m not ready for this yet,” Frank said—and, spectacularly, this was when he started lying. “I thought I was, but I’m not. I’m sorry.”“Oh,” Matt said.
18.Like a demon out of hell, his phone shrieked, “I’m a Barbie girl, in the Barbie world…”Frank swore a streak that would’ve made his Sunday school teacher’s hair curl.
19. Frank interrupted himself. “I think Daredevil’s gonna get him killed.”
20. “So I’ll tell you what he told me. Matt wants Daredevil around, and Daredevil is going to be around as long as Matt wants him. As his friends, the only thing we can do is make sure he has someone in his life who isn’t Daredevil. Because when it’s just the two of them”—she smiled bitterly—“things get bad.”
