Arthur reached out and picked up a slice of poached pear, got his mouth and hands all kinds of sticky as he ate it, slow and luxurious, leaving Merlin with nothing to do but kneel there on his stupid bed, holding his stupid tray and watching him, eyes trained on the fingers he was licking clean, his own tongue mindlessly sweeping over his bottom lip to mimic the taste.
Arthur lures his innocent, unsuspecting manservant into bed with entirely unfair means. It’s a terrible, terrible hardship for poor, little Merlin.

“No, that's Merlin,” Arthur scoffs.
Gwaine smirks, half confused, half amused as he says “Merlin?”
So he is put under the spell. The spell of the siren who shows him something he cannot deny, something that his heart yearns for. Someone.
Merlin.
“Did you just say Merlin?” Elyan raises an eyebrow and all his knights are now staring blatantly right at him. Eyes honed in on his lips.
And he has accidentally revealed it all to his knights.

“Exactly” Merlin just brushes it off.
“And why not?” Arthur presses on, intent on getting Merlin to talk. After all, they are in this hostel together. In the last available room, with one bed.
“Gwaine is a friend”
“A friend?”

“Benefits?” Arthur’s voice is exasperated, like he cannot believe it.

Summary
The knights of Camelot would do anything for Camelot but most importantly they'd do everything for Arthur, their one true King. They would not hesitate to do anything he tells them to.
Even now, they all wait for him to give his instructions as the druid’s words sink in.
For the sealed tomb to be unlocked, it requires the defiling of an innocence.
More specifically, a defiling of somebody innocent. A virgin’s first time is needed as a sacrifice.
The tomb is enchanted, and within lies the one object that can stop Camelot from a monster of a certain doom.

When the Knights go in search of something to save Camelot, they are told that the only way to do so is to sacrifice a virgin.None of the knights are; until of course, a certain non-knight manservant pipes up.

Summary
There was very little gentleness in most of Arthur's physical interactions. He was a warrior, but even outside of that, his role as a leader meant that by necessity he had to maintain a certain distance and decorum that contained a different kind of violence. Sometimes he wondered if the safety of that distance was worth the ache of isolation.
Or: 5 times Arthur noticed Merlin using his gentle hands to tend to his knights and one time Merlin took care of Arthur himself.

Now, he saw the marks painting the canvas of Merlin's body, and he witnessed another story: one of unquestionable fealty. Nor was it born out of duty: a knight's oath to protect the house of Pendragon and the lands they called their home. Merlin's vows were not about the crown that would one day rest upon Arthur's brow. He did not care about titles or power. Perhaps promises of destiny had planted the seed, but it was Arthur – a man like any other bar the circumstances of his birth – who Merlin had fought for with such fervour, time and again.
Not a knight, but a warrior all the same.
Arthur appreciates all that Merlin has done in his name.

Summary
There was a time, not so long ago, when Arthur would have said that Merlin is… maybe not weak per se, but certainly not strong. He's an untrained peasant, after all, unused to the rigorous training of the sword and shield, the weight of chainmail and plated armour, the endurance built by sustained battle. He doesn’t have the obvious bulk of a knight, nor the keen reflexes lacing his muscles. He’s… well, yes, Arthur supposes he would have thought Merlin weak.
On his honour, he will never call Merlin weak after tonight.

Dr. Robby wasn’t looking at him in disgust, but like he was a mirage of water in the desert, something craved but fleeting. Blown pupils, erubescence of the face. If Dennis had a Holter monitor on him, he was sure it would be signaling arrhythmias.
Whatever was coming over Dr. Robby that night was a unique concoction of loneliness, drunkenness, and horny desperation; there was no guarantee it’d come again.
This was a no-strings hookup, with a man Dennis was not feeling very casually about. This was a bad, bad idea.
He nodded, realizing his own mouth was hanging open.
