Summary
The camera moves down and zooms in to focus on the helmet, where a small hand is tracing the blue eye-like markings. The camera zooms out a little to reveal that the hand belongs to the cadet in the trooper’s lap.
“And do we know what colour this bucye is?”

Summary
Two survivors wake up aboard Hail Mary with no memory of how they got there: Dr Ryland Grace, and an engineer called Simon Fleischer. As they navigate their unique situation and the discoveries awaiting them at Tau Ceti, they uncover truths about themselves that would have, perhaps, been better left forgotten.

Summary
I was asleep when it happened. I'd woken up without my meories on a suicide mission to save the sun and met and tentitivly befriended an alien(!!) this past month. My life was already going crazy.
So why wouldn't a blood covered person appear out of nowhere on my ship. And oh boy, its a kid the age of my students. What could possibly go wrong?

Summary
The details of the job are pretty vague, but in the end, Simon agrees. It's a chance. At freedom. Life. No matter how slim or ridiculous the thought is in a dying universe. He doesn't know what to expect, but he certainly isn't prepared to wake up months later on a small ship with a crew of people that leave him with more questions than answers.

Summary
Simon, against all odds, makes it back to Mars.
--
Simon was born and raised on Mars. He has not seen it, outside of photographs, for over 21 years. In that time, he has not seen inside the interior of a Martian colony, has not smelled the manufactured, clean air, has not felt the warmth of a well-maintained atmospheric system. And yet, as he absorbs the near-forgotten stimuli, he feels at home. His heart nearly bursts with it.Bookmarked by space__ace

Summary
There were times after Rocky moved into the Hail Mary when Grace would be hunched over an experiment, struggling to make things work; struggling to find the solution that Tau Ceti held, then struggling to grow nitrogen-resistant Taumoeba faster. Sometimes he would sit staring at the farm-tanks, slouched in his chair with his hands dangling over his knees, and whisper to himself. “Please,” he would say. “Please, please, please.”
“Who is Grace talking to?” Rocky had asked in the stilted way he’d been stuck with at the time.
“No one,” Grace had shrugged. “Or anyone. Anyone who’ll listen.”
Rocky does not understand humans. But now, he sits on the shore of an infant sea, a brand-new constructed world all around him just waiting for its single lonely occupant to take control of it, and wonders if human senselessness is worth a shot.
“Please,” he whispers, running his claw through the water. “Please, please, please.”
The sea does not respond.
Or, what if your friend accidentally catches the attention of a god in hopes of saving you, and that god falls in love with you instead?
