Alex just stared.
His brain simply refused to process what it was seeing.
Because standing in the hallway was Henry.
Alex wasn’t sure it wasn’t a cruel hallucination created by sleep deprivation. There was no way Henry was really here a year later.
"Hello, Alex," Henry said softly.
The familiar accent hit Alex like a punch to the chest.
"I'm sorry to bother you at this time, but..." Henry swallowed. "Could we talk?"

Summary
Out of all the domestic frontiers they had conquered since moving into the brownstone together, sickness was not one that had come to pass. There was that mild cold Henry had back in the spring, and Alex had come down with something a few months back, but Henry had been away for that and Alex had hidden it well, complaining about ‘damn allergies’ when Henry had returned to catch Alex in the tail end of it.
