“Did you just sniff me?” Changbin asks, voice full of laughter, and it’s the first time he’s actually noticed, and Hyunjin fucking freezes.
“Um,” he says, scrabbling to come up with any excuse for why he did it, because he most certainly, obviously, did in fact sniff Changbin. “Yeah. I…had to make sure the smoke smell was gone.”
There’s a beat where Hyunjin isn’t sure the lie is enough.
“That makes sense,” Changbin says after another moment, and relief courses through Hyunjin’s body so rapidly he gets dizzy with it. “Wanna watch the new episode of Love Island?”

It had been three months since Changbin left, and today was the first day Hyunjin felt as though he should've put up a braver front about it all, if to at least spare Chan, his pure heart, and his feelings. The husky hybrid hadn't been in his human form since the break up, and today was the second day that Chan refused to eat.
Hyunjin knew the exact reason for both.
It had been three months of Hyunjin dealing with his own heartbreak, but Chan had lost Changbin, too....
A pit forms in Hyunjin's stomach. He knows what he has to do — he probably should have done it sooner, probably should have looked past his heartbroken misery to consider Chan's utter devastation even for just a second — but it's the doing it part that's been tripping him up.
With one more glance at Chan — at his beautiful fluffy boy, his best boy, with his droopy ears and big round eyes — Hyunjin grabs his phone, and dials a number he hasn't called in three months.

The canvas is stained with pink. Pinks that are almost red and pinks that are almost white but every single one reminds him of Changbin. Petals of pink peonies cover the expanse of it and all he can think when he sees it is Changbin.
Jisung said once that thinking of Changbin that much had to be some form of severe mental illness but that was before he started dating Minho and has since retracted his statement. Hyunjin supposes that Jisung wasn't wrong in that. There isn't a second that goes by that he's not thinking about Changbin.
He asked Changbin about it once, right after their sixth or seventh date. His dick was softening inside Changbin but he didn't have the heart to move from inside him and he asked if Changbin thought it was normal to be this insane.
Changbin kissed him and said, “I am completely not normal about you, Hyunjin. So we can be not normal together.”
Hyunjin almost proposed to him that night.

It’d be wrong. Changbin wasn’t just his manager, but someone he considered a friend, and that wasn’t something he wanted to tarnish. No matter how.. Hot, sculpted, big he was.
No matter how sweet and caring he was, always offering some sweet words or a shoulder to relax on.
The only thing more attractive about Changbin’s appearance was his heart, and the way he was able to look at Hyunjin like a real person when the rest of the room around him looked at him like a prop.
And it definitely had nothing to do with the way Changbin had once so easily picked up a drunk Hyunjin, throwing him over his shoulder with nothing more than a subtle tumble, and forcing him onto the bed in hopes he’d sleep the rest of the night.

Hyunjin looked out the window, watching people walked by. “You’re good at making people feel seen."
Changbin watched for a moment with silent fondness. The way Hyunjin smiled, like it was some sort of secret meant only for the artist himself. The way his shoulders relaxed when he felt safe. “It’s easier when the person’s worth seeing."

Jisung follows her line of sight and then turns back to her, his eyes widening when he takes in Changbin’s expression.

She’s kneeling on a carpet and the curve of her ass is prominent enough to make the skirt useless, though it doesn’t distract from how her arm is covering her bare tits. He can see just the hint of a nipple. The flare of the flash on her phone covers her face, but Chan knows it’s her.
When he’s alone again, he pulls the e-mail up on his phone, saves the picture and hides it in a private folder. Then he deletes all three e-mails Felix sent and takes a deep, shaky breath.
Chan is half hard in his slacks and he locks the door of his office before unbuckling his belt.
