Summary
It is 2012, and Dipper and Mabel have been sent off to Gravity Falls, Oregon to live with their Grunkle Stan for the summer. They're expecting a boring summer up there, but the supernatural happenings common to Gravity Falls will make this a summer to remember. Luckily, Dipper's brought a tape recorder to record everything that they come across...
What if there were other powers at work in Gravity Falls beyond just Bill Cipher? What if the true powers behind it all were more familiar to the Archives crew of a certain Institute across the pond?
What if Gravity Falls ran on the rules of the Magnus Archives universe instead of the rules of Weirdness?
This is primarily going to be a Gravity Falls work - it just uses the lore and logic of the Magnus Archives universe. Don't expect the Archives crew to show up except perhaps as a passing mention.
It is also a quite slow-paced fic by my own admission. About three to four chapters per episode of Gravity Falls.
Tends to update once a week between Sunday and Wednesday - but since the second I make that a hard deadline I'm gonna start procrastinating and rushing in that order; just take that as a vague idea instead.

Summary
Dipper and Mabel come back to Gravity Falls the summer before college. A lot of things are the same, a lot of things are different. They're teens now, practically grown ups and they still manage to get dragged into Gravity Fall's weirdness. It's just a little bit darker now. A little bit off.
Pacifica Northwest has a secret. More than one. How many? Not your problem, don't worry about it.
She and Dipper get off on the wrong foot, Mabel and Wendy watch in disapproval. It's going to be an exciting summer at least.

A good few of the earlier chapters read like smash-ups between episodes of both shows, which is somewhat interesting in its own right - but where this fic shines is in the clashing between the different personalities of the Pines extended family and the Crystal Gems. Everyone is characterized quite well, and where personalities clash and coalesce is fascinating and entirely believable.
I did not read the original fic that this one was rewritten from - don't personally see the point, since I'd rather read the updated one - so this is all a blind perspective.

Legitimately feels like a "Gravity Falls 2". Characterization of the Canon characters is great and in-character while still feeling like they've grown, and the OCs add to the journeys of Dipper and Mabel without being distracting.
