He watched her as she turned and slowly shook her head, silvery grey eyes glossy as they bored into his. Blood dripped from his forehead and hit the concrete. The sound of the red puddle slowly building cut through the sound of the group’s ragged breathing.
She stepped in front of him protectively and his chest clenched. “If you shoot him, you have to shoot me first.”
