There was a weird, stilted silence between them, only shifted by the sound of Jimin's socked feet as he slid around their kitchen. Yoongi stroked his fingers across the strings to hit again but Namjoon reached out and caught his elbow, dragged Yoongi's arm down into his lap and laced their fingers together.
"Joon-ah," Yoongi sighed.
"Just hold my hand," Namjoon had said and squeezed. "We're going to be okay, Yoongi. We always are."
We, it echos in Yoongi's brain, as he finds himself alone on the sofa. Hands curled around his heart. It's always we, and he's alone.
