Mondstadt is known for gentle weather, the age-old blessing of their ruling Archon. Even in the depths of winter they never see snow: the grass remains fresh and bright, cheery flowers echoing the smile of a certain free-spirited bard. Mondstadt does have rain, though, and the January downpour can soak a man to the bone—so those wet winter nights find the locals holed up in taverns, drinking away the cold. "Wine warms the body, friends warm the soul…" This saying traces back to Old Mondstadt, and the ruined city of the God of Storms. Centuries later, though the blizzards are long gone, the people of Barbatos still gather together and drink through the cold.
This is a story about the ones who don’t.
