Sydney swallowed a lump in her throat. It should be enough for her. She should leave him, satisfied.
“For what?”
His eyes came back for her. “I’m sorry for wanting your company bad enough that I agreed for you to spend a night with me.”
Some of her breath got taken away. With the rest of it she had left, she asked, “And?”
“And I’m sorry that you want my company as badly as I want yours.”

Carmy’s asleep fast, chest expanding with every deep breath he takes and Syd scratches at his chest and smiles. He’s so warm, a little warmer than he was when they first started dating. Granted, cuddling was kind of new for both of them, but she fucking loved it then, even with Carmen’s shy hands. It was always the exact thing she wanted right after service when her eyes were sore and her limbs were achey. Her boyfriend was always there with his eyes soft and his arms open.
