Soon a strange ritual begins:

charades instead of conversations,
and feelings Ryland definitely wasn’t supposed to develop.Things only get more complicated when they become lab partners outside the costume. Because while she slowly falls for awkward, sweet Ryland Grace… she also starts realizing he feels strangely familiar.
And Ryland is terrified that once the mask comes off, she’ll never look at him the same way again.

It had just been too long. Way too long. You hadn’t felt anything like that in 4 years. The feeling of human contact. The feeling of human contact with Ryland. It scared you.
You and Ryland seemed to have come to a silent agreement on boundaries when it came to touch. The closest you two ever got to one another was helping each other getting in or out of the EVA suits. Otherwise, you made no contact at all. Which was fine. Absolutely fine, really.
