Summary
Phainon blinked.
“Uh… a kitty?” he said, kneeling down in the grass.
And the beast spoke.
“I am not a cat!” the cat said sharply, sitting up just enough to glare at him.
Phainon stared.
“A… talking cat?” he said, incredulously. He leaned a little closer, now able to see the injury more clearly. Blood coated one of the creature’s legs.
“I said I am not a cat,” the creature repeated, its fur bristling irritably.
“You’re adorable,” Phainon remarked, leaning a little closer. “Are you injured?”
After being taken from the humble life he knew and thrust into the imperial palace as a forgotten prince, Phainon Khaslana expects only loneliness, etiquette lessons, and a long list of rules he barely understands. What he does not expect is a foul-tempered talking beast hiding in the palace gardens—one that insists it is definitely not a cat.

Summary
Phainon Khaslana, as in-house counsel at Chrysos Corp, was the kind of lawyer people assumed was always two steps ahead of the room. Reliable to a fault, friendly to everyone, and even known as the 'Deliverer' for his stellar performance. The only problem he had, if anyone tried to name it, was the existence of the ever-insufferable Mydeimos, his rival.
Mydei was a rising star at Castrum Kremnos LLC. Notoriously efficient, and already on partner track faster than anyone else in his cohort. He and Phainon were, professionally, perfectly matched adversaries: opposing counsel who kept ending up on the same cases, tightening every encounter between competition and fixation.
What no one saw was that their rivalry did not end when the hearings did. In public, they were rivals who never lost focus. In private, they were something neither of them wanted to name, and yet, something neither of them seemed interested in stopping.
When Chrysos Corp and Castrum Kremnos collided in court once again, it became very clear: The case was not the only thing escalating.

Summary
Only the lower half of Mydei's face was visible, his lips set in something dangerously close to a smirk, but not quite. There was tension there. Something deliberate or maybe not, which somehow made it worse. Hotter. Better.
Phainon swallowed. His eyes dropped.
Mydei's wrists were bound in leather. It was dark and clean, pulled snug enough to secure him. It didn’t look tight enough to hurt. Just enough to hold. To keep.
Phainon’s grip on the phone shifted slightly, thumb pressing harder against the side without him noticing. “…What the hell,” he breathed. That was his belt. The one he left behind while packing for work. It was on Mydei’s wrists, it didn’t look like a joke. That was the problem.Phainon receives a picture of Mydei tied up with his own belt. It’s meant to be a joke, but it lingers a little too long, digs a little too deep, and sparks something in both of them: curiosity in Phainon, something submissive in Mydei, and the quiet question of how far they’re willing to take it in both of them. Mydei kicked her sandals off by the door and shifted the supplies in her hands.
“My apartment’s water isn’t working. I’m gonna use your bathroom to get this done,” she said, already moving towards the bathroom like it was settled.
“Ah. Of course,” Phainon said, a little too quickly.
She never had any issue with Mydei being over. If anything, she liked how natural it felt, how Mydei kept ending up in her space more and more lately. Sometimes Phainon caught herself thinking it would make sense if she just gave Mydei a key. Usually she told herself to stop being embarrassing right after.
She hovered for a second, then tilted her head.
“Since you’re here though, I feel like the least you could do in exchange is let me help you dye it.”
Or: Phainon dyes Mydei’s hair, and then her bush. It leads to them doing other things (each other).

Summary
For a little while, things were quiet again. Phainon was just getting back into the data sets.
And then Mydei spoke.
“Hey.”
Phainon hummed absently, still typing.
“Want me to give you a facial?”
Phainon’s hands froze on the keyboard. Slowly, very slowly, he turned his head.
“What.”Phainon’s midterms are slowly killing him. Sleep is scarce, his workload is worse, and his only constant is Mydei, who has a talent for offering the most suspicious things at the worst possible time.
As it turns out, Mydei just meant skincare. Phainon, having harbored feelings for Mydei for months now, is immensely disappointed about that.
But he isn’t disappointed for long.

Now, Phainon's head snaps up. His lip curls, baring his teeth. "How long what?" he snarls. "How long since my rut started? How long will it last? Just what are you trying to ask, Mydeimos? How long since I've imprinted on you like some kind of—"
"Are you ashamed of it, then?" Mydei cuts him off, struggling to keep his scent from swelling. "Do you find your affections unnatural or repulsive? Or have I not done enough to prove myself to you as a worthy mate?"
