this is the rare work where if's clear the author has a mastery of language and prose. and it's so in character, too! the story is gorgeous and contains words both romantic and realistic and musings that are poetic without being overly flowery or adding unnecessary fluff. we are given a story written from the soul, and i thoroughly enjoyed this - so much so that i wrote my thoughts down in an actual note and full-on reco instead of bookmarking and leaving. i needed to remember this!
this was in my open tabs forever; i was waiting to be in the correct headspace to read this. and it was entirely worth the wait. i was filled with hope not just for my dear osaaka but for myself by the end

Like an old relic in a museum, Kita should be untouchable: effortlessly elegant, withholding so much wonder and beauty that he’s bound to make anyone stop and stare.
Aran couldn’t help but feel that every touch of his fingers would taint Kita, would rub scratches onto the surface, and bruise the edges. He was lucky enough to be that person, though, to be the one who broke Kita’s walls down one by one, only to build him up again, through every caress, every wandering finger that dared to mark the smooth skin. Yeah, Aran was pretty lucky.

It always goes the same way. Has for an embarrassing amount of time. Akaashi shows up, they share no more than a few sentences back and forth, Osamu pretends not to watch his every move, and then- at some point- Akaashi leaves with Atsumu in some pathetic ploy to what? Make Osamu jealous? Finally get him to say something? Make him stop them? Anything, really, would be nice. And yet every time, Osamu feigns ignorance and doesn’t even give them a passing glance when they go.
Honestly, he doesn't know why he keeps this up.

The voice had been a mere whisper, but it boomed around him, coming from every direction at once. Atsumu nervously clawed at his neck and found that they were also covered in a dusting of dirt and pebbles. They felt weird, tingly but numb, like they weren’t an actual part of his body. He stared down at them, wondering if his own hands even belonged to him in the first place.
“Atsumu!” the voice hissed, tone sharper than before. The voice— where had he heard it before? Familiar in the sense that he knew it better than the tenor of his own voice, but distant like he hadn’t heard it in years. Forgotten.
At the age of 8 years old, Miya Osamu disappeared. Only one person knows what truly happened.

Meian was prepared for most situations, for the knife to slip and stab him in the back of skull? Sure, no problem, for Osamu to smack him across the face for making an odly perverted noise while eating? Yep, he was ready.
For Osamu to push his lips up and press them into his? Not in a million years.

For a man typically disgusted by the amount of sugar Satoru consumes, it’s an interesting find.He does abuse it, though. Comes by Kento’s apartment every morning fifteen minutes earlier than Kento usually wakes up, his caramel and cinnamon abomination already finished so that Kento doesn’t kick him out.
Who knows when their two paths became one? What matters is that they could look at each other forever.

Oikawa prayed to whatever gods that were listening to let Suga lean in to drink at the same time he did. He wanted to take in every single detail of the other’s face as he got flustered. Watching the red dust his cheeks and settle on the tips of his ears. Tooru knew he was a greedy person, he honestly liked to take more than anything, but he would give the world to behold such a sight.

Summary
He’d seen it in dramas and foreign movies—the protagonist always has to overcome his greatest fear or finally act on his deepest desire in order to escape. Luckily, those two things were one and the same for Kiyoomi. Unluckily, this likely meant that he had to choose between slowly going insane from the loops or finally confessing his secret romantic feelings for Miya Atsumu. It was a tough decision.
(Trapped in a time loop of his 25th birthday, Kiyoomi takes advantage of the repeats to finally act on his feelings for Atsumu.)

“It’s noth—” Atsumu’s voice catches on a cough. He presses a hand to his mouth on reflex, ignoring the judgemental glare Kiyoomi is probably giving him. Well, it’s the right decision because Atsumu coughs something into his hand, something small, petal-soft… petal-like…petal…
Oh no.
“You’re not sick are you?” Kiyoomi grumbles, sounding substantially more composed and pissy.
Atsumu closes his hand into a fist and crushes the petal. “No, I’m not.”
Fuck what everyone else says. If you ask Atsumu, bad puns and emotional avoidance are valid ways to cope with death-by-flowers disease.
