Summary
After the fire, Shannon is adjusting to normal life and living with Kavanagh's. She's safe now, however, she cannot seem to feel comfortable in her own mind or skin. She doesn't understand the gut-wrenching feeling she experiences when somebody comes near her and why she can no longer hug or touch people, including Johnny. She always claimed to the social workers that her dad never touched her, but with gaps in her memory and struggling with touch, memories start to come back that solidify her worst nightmare. Johnny, coming back from his rugby adventures, slowly comes to understand what's wrong with her, and helps her comes to terms with what happened and what the next step forward is.

This fic is set during and before their wedding and even though there are bits about Johnny and Shannon it's mainly about Joey and Shannon and their relationship. I'm so proud of both of them and they are both my babies.
