Xia Fei drapes himself over the table. “Some guy wanted me to model his clothes. Said he’d pay a whole lot. This was supposed to be our meeting spot, but I got no idea where he’s at. I ran all the way here, too!”
He feels a weight on the back of his head, and he cranes his face up to see that it’s Vein’s hand.
“There, there. Poor you. I wonder what happened to that guy.”
Xia Fei squints his eyes in suspicion.
“Vein. Blink twice if you’ve committed murder.”
“Er—”

“Fire Lord Zuko,” the guard says, gasping for breath between words. Zuko nods twice. “We’ve gotten reports that our food storage in the woods — the large one — was burned by disputants. Nearby guards had asked to call for you immediately.”
Zuko sways. Of course something like this would happen as soon as he tries to take a break. The guard notices his hesitation and speaks again.
“We think the attacker might be Princess Azula, My Lord.”
Zuko sighs.

Summary
“Let’s get one thing straight,” Suguru says, his voice low and threatening, dark eyes glittering in the waning sunlight streaming through the windows. “I’m not doing this as a favor to you. I am doing this because you’re right about one thing and one thing only-- Megumi deserves better than a life with Limitless.”
Suguru leans in close enough that Satoru can count his individual lashes. Satoru’s heart thunders in his chest, his limbs cold and useless where he sits.
“And when all is said and done, I want you gone from my life. Permanently. I have worked too god damned hard to give my daughters some sense of normalcy, and if you fuck that up-- you will wish you’d stayed an agent. Are we clear, Satoru?”
Satoru’s nod is the barest flicker of movement. Suguru releases him and steps back.
“Good. Glad we understand each other.”
Or: the one where a young Megumi is thrust upon Satoru and they go on a good old-fashioned American cross-country road trip about it.

Summary
Suguru takes a second curse as soon as he sat down next to the toilet and swallows that, too, a third following quickly.
Satoru watches him, completely enraptured by the sight and it’s only when Suguru glares at him that he realises that he’s staring.
“What are you looking at?” Suguru bites out and Satoru presses his lips together so the immediate answer of ‘You’ doesn’t slip out.
In all honesty, though, Satoru wouldn’t even know how to put it into words, what it is he’s looking at, what he wants. Because how do you explain to your best friend that you might be fantasising about turning into a curse yourself just so that he can swallow you whole, so that you can live inside of him, safely nestled in his cursed energy.
The thought alone makes Satoru blush; there’s no way he could ever say those words to Suguru.

Summary
The very first time Suguru had noticed that something is off with Satoru was in the room with the Star members, where Satoru had asked him if they should simply kill them all.
Suguru had understood that urge, better than Satoru might think, even though he did tell him not to do it, but what he didn’t understand was the muttered “Maybe I should give them something in return, a little peace offering”.
When Suguru asked about that strange utterance Satoru had simply stared at him until Suguru changed the subject but even though it went ignored it was never forgotten.
Something is off with Satoru and it’s starting to freak Suguru out.

“What would you be born of?” he then asks, his voice barely audible in the space between them and Satoru feels the abyss more keenly than ever.
“Longing,” Satoru instantly replies, because it feels as if he’s done nothing else for the past month and he’s so familiar with it by now.
“Why? You think that’s a negative emotion?”
“Of course it is, what kind of question is that even?” Satoru wants to know. “It hurts right here,” he then adds and taps his chest because it does.
It always hurts these days, because Suguru no longer wants to be his one and only.
