But Charles was gentle, warm, and kind. His love transcended Erik’s vices, it built palaces with the ruins inside of Erik’s mind. His love was honest, it was good — enveloping Erik, devouring Erik, destroying every premise of the world he thought he knew."

Summary
The idea of letting Blanc do this somehow felt almost… more and less intimate simultaneously. But the idea of being left alone was even more unbearable than any potential embarrassment it might be at war with, and so he'd finally managed a cracked:
