    His gilded, blood-soaked longing,

    “I love you,” Soap smiled, all Ghost saw was blood,
    spilling out – clutching and begging and failing –
    salvation. A pathetic idea.
    Those three words of acrid love –
    they relentlessly burned themselves
    beneath Simon’s skin, and in the darkness
    he saw him – how many times had it been?
    He tightened his grip and stayed – for Johnny,
    always for Johnny – now until forever;
    “Come back to me.”
    “I will.”

    TL;DR Ghost gets stuck in a timeloop of Graves's betrayal and desperately searches for a way to get out alive. The only problem is that Soap is a stubborn soul, and so is Ghost.
