It’s home ice advantage, he tries to tell himself. They’re playing at home, luckily. He doesn’t think he could handle it if they were going to Boston. TD Garden is different from their home rink. It’s rowdier, certainly, and it also has a whole bustling train station inside it as well. That many people when he’s already feeling not the best–
At home, here, Shane already thinks his heart is going to turn to ice, just like Elsa does in Emma and Ruby’s favorite movie, the one that he sees on the screen when he goes to the Pikes’ for dinner sometimes. He can’t imagine being somewhere and having to go back to a shared hotel room when he’s frozen solid.
Maybe they’ll make him into a sculpture. It might be more bearable than this.
Tonight, he will be facing the Raiders and therefore Rozanov for the first time since Vegas.

Merlin slips into the chainmail, remembers how Arthur once helped him put on his gloves in Ealdor when they were trying to protect his village from being sieged. His magic tingles under his skin, recently recovered after the Crystal Caves. He wonders if wearing this armor, the king’s spare armor, if he could be disguised when using magic to stop the fighting before there are more casualties. Maybe he could even convince Morgana and Mordred that he’s Arthur, and distract them while Arthur leads Camelot to victory elsewhere on the battlefield.

They're past it, several months past it, but insecurities flare up sometimes. Especially when Svetlana is brought up because she's cool, smart, beautiful. And Shane, as so many people say, is boring.
