Summary
It’d been a week or so since his escape from the Dursleys, and Mr Lupin(“call me Remus”) hadn’t stopped being nice. Harry didn’t understand. The Dursleys had never pretended for this long, never when they were alone. They’d barely bothered to act nice to him in front of the neighbourhood(“such a delinquent, just like his parents”) or his teachers(“you know he bullies our Dudley at home, can’t be too lenient with him”). But Mr Lupin had said his parents were heroes, and he hadn’t lied about Harry’s new room, or how much food he’d be allowed, or anything else. Yet. He’d just been… nice. No one stayed nice to Harry.
OR
Remus saves Harry from the Dursleys and then saves Harry from a thunderstorm

"I…" There was a lump in Agott's throat. She nervously swallowed, running her tongue along the back of her teeth. "...Short enough for it to stop being a dress."

OR: Before they're official apprentices of Qifrey's atelier, the girls accidentally (on purpose) stumble upon Qifrey and Olruggio when the two men think they're alone. It tells the girls everything they need to know about the kind of witches (and people) they are.

"You know, I always thought I'd live somewhere with lots of people around," Olruggio tells him. The wine in his vessel is a rich pink colour. Qifrey made them olives and cheese with cabroccoli wrapped in ham for a late-night snack, but the pleasure was in the making, not in the eating. He sips his own vessel, listening. "But it's really nice out here, isn't it? Peaceful. Good for focussing."
"I think you would be even more of a hermit, if you had the choice," Qifrey says. "Lost in your work for weeks on end."
Olruggio looks sheepish, rubbing the back of his neck with his free hand. "You're probably right. I never thought I'd be that kind of person, either… weird how much things change, isn't it?"
"And how much they stay the same," Qifrey murmurs.
A temporary fix-it.
