Summary
This story is one we'd wanted to tell way back in January, but the fear of there not being enough to post prevented us from posting it until we had 2k words, which, while standard, if a bit low, for a normal fic, would be really fucking hard to do in this style.
This story follows a member of a species that the affini were nearly too late to save, and though this is an hdg fic, it will be a while before the affini actually show up. We hope you enjoy.

Summary
A homeless terran unaware of the invasion stays the night in the hab built where his childhood home used to be, assuming it to be uninhabited. Upon waking, the terran is domesticated by the affini who just moved into the hab. Assuming we manage to write this story to completion, the terran in question will learn little by little just how little they really knew about themselves. And also an affini who's very blatantly based on a certain goofy detective will appear.
