Summary
Trauma Spies have had four or so years of family life, but it's fraught with breakdowns, break-ups, and misunderstandings. When Castle moves his family to New York City with the intent of giving Kate back some of her old life—and then promptly leaves on an overseas mission for the CIA—Beckett is trapped in the city where her trauma began, with twin boys who, while understanding, are still the product of a government science experiment.
So Beckett does a runner, as she often does, in an effort not to damage her family with all of her damage.
This time, Beckett tries to burn it all down by fucking someone else.
Castle chases after her.

What would Brennan have to say to Hannah after the failed proposal? A little what-if story
Brennan “I would never submit to the misogynistic, constrictive institution of monogamous marriage, I am not property to be possessed and humankind simply does not evolutionarily mate for life” would be furious that Booth would end his relationship and evict Hannah over a rejected engagement. Add in that Hannah explicitly told everyone that marriage wasn’t her thing (and you bet she and Brennan discussed this when they went out drinking together) Brennan would be so offended on her behalf. She genuinely tried to support Booth/Hannah and wouldn’t just shrug her shoulders when things went sideways.

Actually, he doesn’t seem to have any questions or comments at all regarding her unexpected news. She’s still reeling about what this means for them individually, for their careers, for their relationship. Why isn’t he wondering about all of the same things?
“Would you… like to go back to my apartment to discuss more of the details?” she asks finally. “I would expect you would have more questions before you come to a decision about your involvement.”
His voice gets soft and she resents the way a pleasant tingling sensation explodes in her stomach. “Sure, Bones, we can talk.”
