And like a coward, they run. It's all they ever do, really. But it was over, wasn't it? This was always how their story would end.

Steve went, for the sake of not pissing anyone off any more than he already had, and also because Bucky deserved some privacy even though he was stuck in a fish tank, and because the stupid environment-mimicking lights did cause headaches after sixteen hours.
