Summary
Dennis doesn’t leave, not yet. He sits with his back against the wall, watching Pope.
It suddenly seems so quiet and small in this room. The silence is so loud, which seems impossible, but it buzzes hard in Dennis’s ears.
He observes the way the moonlight from the window shines on the sweat on Pope’s skin. He gets up.
Pope stirs before speaking, “Where’re you going?”
“I’m just going to the couch so you can get some sleep.”
“Don’t sleep on the couch. Sleep here.”
Dennis pauses. The words hang heavily in the air. Alarm bells go off in Dennis’s head, the thought of crawling into bed with a man who uses butane torches for first aid purposes, who probably has a gun or two stashed around his apartment– this mysterious, obvious escape plan apartment.
But something strong inside of him wants to, wants to curl up into this man’s mattress and fall asleep next to him. That very irrational part of him is winning.
OR
When Jack Abbot's estranged brother shows up at the Pitt seeking his help, he asks Dennis for a favor: take care of Pope's injury and observe him for forty-eight hours. Things get complicated fast.

Summary
Jack sings along to the music playing over the kitchen speaker, swaying a little. He’s a terrible singer (medically diagnosed by Santos in a scathing review of his late night tunes), but he’s going through an Olivia Dean phase. Sue him.
The late summer sun is streaming through the open kitchen windows, painting everything gold as the breeze carries the sound of birdsong and passing conversation in. Robby is still out with Jake for an afternoon game of basketball, but due back any time.
He blows out a nervous breath, the velvet box in his pocket burning against his thigh.

Or, Jack cooks dinner, remembers, and asks Robby to marry him. In that order.

Dennis breathed in sharply. Which wasn't a great choice as he was still under the showerhead and promptly took in a mouthful of water.
“Told you.”
It took him a moment to recover, sputtering and spitting water before going quiet. When Robby finally opened his eyes again, Dennis was staring back at him with a soft expression that he couldn't quite read.
“You’re drunk.” He says it like Robby just told him a joke.

"Why didn't you tell me about this?" Jack says.
Robby winds around himself, almost too mortified to speak. He forces out, "You were so happy with the arrangement that I just thought it was... out of the cards."
Jack looks at him plainly. "I'm not happy. My husband is withdrawing from me. The guy I'm married to didn't seem to want me in bed with him. I thought something was really wrong, man."
"Fuck. I'm sorry." He scrapes a hand over his eyes.
Jack takes his head in his hands, forcing their eyes to meet; with great importance, he tells him, "I love you. You deserve to feel good."
