“WHAT?” Kristen shouted next to him, loud enough Neil had to cover his ear, unintentionally putting the ring on full display. She was one of the few he least tolerated since joining the Denver Outlaws, always sticking her nose in other people’s lives. “What the fuck is that, Josten?! Did you get married or what?!”
Neil spared her a scowl, not appreciating having his hearing compromised and the attention of all his teammates on him. “Yes,” he said flatly and went to the treadmill to continue his workout.
OR
Neil and Andrew get married without public knowledge.
Everyone thinks they're rivals, even their pro teams.
Neil is tired of it, and what better way to end it all than by showing off at finals?

Summary
The one where Andrew makes a perfectly reasonable request and Neil takes it too far like the dumbass he is.
Or, relationships are complicated and communication is hard. They don't always nail it.
So, Andrew has hit his limit. Neil’s charged silence next to him is so loud that Andrew can’t read over the buzz of it in his ears.
“Get out,” he says, turning to glare at Neil.
Neil blinks at him.
“Whatever stupid thing you’re obsessing over. It’s irritating. I don’t have time to solve your problems for you. Handle it. I have to study.”
Instantly, he realizes it was a mistake. He watches Neil’s face and body shutter up, closing tight like he’s locking down for a hurricane. It took so fucking long to get Neil to open up in the first place. Andrew had to peel him open one truth at a time. Fuck.

Summary
Nicky was having an awful day.
The twins were ignoring him, Erik's flight was cancelled and his old family can't seem to leave him alone.
The Hemmick's believe they have found a new, more effective and direct method to help Nicky, to get their son back after conversion therapy failed. They have been leaving numerous calls and texts, each one of Luther's getting more increasing threatening whilst Maria is just claiming she wants her son back.
After effectively blowing up Nicky's phone and causing copious amounts of stress, he decides to finally get a restraining order down at the local police station.
However, with the lack of Andrews car, (forcing him to go on foot) he doesn't make it very far.
Of course, who expects that a loving and accepting couple like Luther and Maria Hemmick would drug their son and shove him in the back of a van, ready to start his "training"

Summary
The world narrowed until it felt like tunnel vision. All he registered was the rhythm and slap of his shoes hitting the ground, the sound of his own breath, the sting of air against his throat. His chest ached, his ribs burned with every inhale, but he didn’t stop. He pushed harder, like he was trying to outrun his own skin, his own thoughts, the oppressive weight of expectation and loneliness and inability to control what’s coming next that claws at him as soon as the sun goes down and it’s time to sleep.
He ran until he stopped feeling anything at all.
