Summary
“Chase?” Davenport watched as Chase stared at him with a deadpan expression, looking not the least bit impressed. “What are you doing?”
“He’s with me now, Donny,” Douglas gloated, throwing an arm around Chase’s shoulders, a determined glint in his eyes. His blood boiled at the self-righteous look on his brother’s face, Donald had always been the type of person to expect that things would go his way and Douglas was relieved to have something against him.
Douglas couldn’t help but see himself in Chase, especially after witnessing the way that Chase was used and pushed around by his siblings. Douglas’s childhood hadn’t been all that different, granted he and Donny never had any bionic abilities but the general environment wasn’t that different, he and Donny were always forced to compete for everything; food, free time, their parents’ affections - Douglas always seemed to lose out on that last one.
Bree and Adam exchanged a look when they saw Chase. They didn’t recognise the boy in front of them, this wasn’t the Chase they knew.
Chase accepts Douglas's offer and his family realise what they've lost

“So, we’re actually doing this?” Ricky raised an eyebrow, nervously rubbing his hands on the thighs of his jeans, taking deep breaths and shakily exhaling. “We’re telling them?”
“Yep!” Nini said, forcing as much enthusiasm into her voice as possible. She hadn’t been this nervous in a while. “What’s the worst that could happen?”
“We could get completely rejected, lose two of the best friends we’ve ever had and live the rest of our lives in shame with our twenty-seven cats,” Ricky said, running his hands through his hair and looking down the hallway, keeping an eye out for Gina or EJ.
“Ricky,” Nini said, an unimpressed look on her face. The more time she spent with him, the more she had started feeling like his mother or an exasperated therapist more than his friend, not that she minded.
“Fine, we can get dogs if you want but I want to get cats and name them after the Beatles.”
Ricky and Nini break up. They realise they have feelings for E.J. and Gina (respectively) just in time for the latter two to start dating.

“When’s the last time you ate?” She asked.
“Couple of days ago, I think,” He yawned, rubbing his eyes. “When we went to the pizza place.”
“EJ!” She gasped. “That was, like, four days ago.”
“Gina made some cookies yesterday, I had a couple but-”
“But that’s not a proper meal,” She reminded him, shaking her head before making a plan. “Here’s what we’re going to do, I’m going to go get Gina, tell Miss Jenn we’ll be MIA for a couple days, then we’re going to go home, you’ll stay at ours, and just relax for the rest of the weekend, does that sound good?”
“Yeah,” He released a choked sigh. “It’s so much, Ash.”
“I know, honey,” She soothed, her voice kind. “Why didn’t you say anything?”
EJ shrugged, arms wrapped around himself. “Didn’t want to bother you, you’re the lead, you need to focus more than me.”
“Remember the rule, Elijah!” She chided, shaking her head.
E.J. has commitments outside of the Drama Club. Some people just think he's lazy. Other people can see what's really going on.

Summary
“Do you think it’s a crazy idea if I talk to Miss Jenn about getting Nini into the show somehow?” he heard Ricky ask and he had to take a minute to process his words.
EJ poked his head around the corner, making sure he couldn’t be seen by the pair, and watched Gina take a deep breath and cross her arms over her chest. How could one boy be so dense? Ricky Bowen was slowly working his way back up to the most hated person in EJ’s life.
“Does Nini want that?” he heard her ask. It hadn’t taken EJ long to notice that he and Gina weren’t that different, even now, he could practically see her compartmentalizing her emotions, trying to keep herself together for the sake of everyone else around her. From what EJ knew, Ricky had all but abandoned their friendship when he got back together with Nini and Gina had found out she was staying, only to run to her whenever he needed relationship advice. He could, reluctantly, admit that he used to be a jerk but he hoped that he never made a girl feel as bad as he knew Gina was feeling in his presence.
Ricky is a jerk. Miss Jenn has favourites. E.J. and Gina are sick of it.

Raffy was so lost in his memory that he didn’t move for a second when he felt arms wrap around his waist. He leaned back to kiss his boyfriend’s cheek when he realized that it wasn’t Rome but Jack. Apparently a drunk Jack going by the smell that wafted from him. It made Raffy want to vomit and shoved him off him.
“What the hell are you doing?” Raffy called Jack out.

Summary
“It’s healing really well.” Katara tells him with a smile, before her lips quirk down into a frown. “Though it’ll still scar pretty bad.”
Zuko shrugs. “It’s ok. I doubt people will really focus on it anyway… the one on my face is a bit more prominent.”
Katara makes a face, like she’s not quite sure if she should laugh or frown, when Toph speaks up.
“You have a scar on your face?” Toph asks, sitting up so she’s sitting by his legs rather than lying on them.
Zuko blinks. He never quite forgets that Toph is blind, but the fact that she can’t see his scar never really occurred to him.
“Oh, yeah.” Zuko looks down at his lap. “My father burned like, half my face off before I was banished.” He says it a little too casually, probably not bitterly enough.
A crash next to him makes him look up, to see Katara's horrified expression, and a shattered bowl of water at her feet.
No one says anything for a long moment.
“Zuko… it- your dad?” Katara finally manages to gasp out. Zuko blinks at her, his brain moving slowly.
“You didn’t know?” He asks in genuine surprise.
“No.” Sokka wheezes.
Zuko blinks at him. “Oh.” Is all he can manage to say.
