Summary
The tip jar lurks discreetly on the counter, TRAVEL FUND loudly sharpied in red. The words float above a cartoon donkey sticker sporting a shirt that proclaims, Hee Haw! Get yer ASS in gear! The tip jar gets way more action than Wei Ying does, Wen Qing likes to tease. He laughs; of course he laughs. He laughs at everything.
At night though, he's all laughed out. Tip jar money is used for noodles and wine, and the leftovers become pocket money he sends to his favorite 14 year old musician.
Is it weird to wish for more, to want more, but to just hang around waiting… just...waiting? He couldn't even say what he was waiting for.
Or: Wei Ying is in love. He just hasn’t realized it yet.

Some cosmic joke, Fate deciding that wherever the chaos was she’d fling two unsuspecting cultivators out into the void, unaware of their waiting futures. “You’re welcome!” He imagined her laughing as the lights went out, their stomachs swooping. There’s nothing quite like skipping around the universe with your best friend though. They’ve been kissing each other lately too, not that they’d talk about it. That would be way too easy.

Summary
Wei Ying pulls off Chenqing. The note abruptly falters, going sharp as he blocks the blow intended for Lan Wangji.
The strike is strong and fast. The Wen’s knife is sharp. It takes Wei Ying’s body an endless, aching moment to realize it has been harmed. And then there’s blood, splashing hot across Wei Ying’s face and clothing.
Wei Wuxian is injured on the battlefield defending Lan Wangji. They both have feelings about it.
