Summary
Sunday wakes to a persistent tug on his sleeve.
His eyelids flutter open, still heavy with sleep, only to snap shut again as the blinding sunlight glares at him mercilessly. A low groan escapes him: there’s something wrong, he groggily thinks, his mind trying to fight off the drowsiness.
He clearly recalls drifting off in the comfort of a lush king-sized bed, bundled up in overpriced silken sheets within the luxury of a Pier Point penthouse, but if the unforgiving firmness of the ground against his back and the stifling heat of the air are anything to go by, that is definitely where he’s waking up to.
“—gel?” a small, muffled voice pierces through the haziness — it sounds weirdly familiar, but Sunday can’t quite pinpoint why. Another tug, more insistent this time, “Mister Angel?”

For a split second Aventurine thinks he is genuinely hallucinating, because there is absolutely no way in the entire cosmos that he’s looking up at Sunday family-head-turned-Aeon-turned-space-fugitive Oak. Talk about nothing surprising him anymore.
