Summary
Lance was officially weirded out. By Keith. Keith was acting very weird.
But it was a subtle sort of weird that no one else seemed to have noticed, the type of weird that would make the others think that he was weird for noticing it in the first place.
Keith didn’t rise to any of his jabs. Keith didn’t poke fun at him. Keith followed Shiro’s orders to the letter and didn’t pull any dangerous stunts. Keith barely even talked.
Lance was going to get to the bottom of it.

"I don’t care what Hunk said," Keith interrupted, his voice sharper this time. "You don’t owe anyone an explanation. If you want to be with Allura, go for it. But make sure it’s because you want to, not because you think you should. If Allura asks you out, just say yes or no. You don’t owe anyone anything when it comes to your feelings."
Lance looked up at Keith, his blue eyes searching for something in his face. Keith’s heart gave an unexpected jolt, but he didn’t let it show. Instead, he slowly rested his head against Lance’s, both of them turning their attention to the sunset as it deepened in color. Keith couldn’t hold Lance’s gaze for too long.
"Okay," Lance murmured, shifting to get more comfortable against Keith.
Lance stared out at the horizon. "Everything’s so beautiful out here."
“It is,” Keith agreed, his voice quieter now.
(What if Lance had froze and couldn’t ask Allura out on a date in Season 8, Episode 1? This is my take on fixing Voltron and writing what I believe should have happened.)

“So, Princess,” he started, turning toward Allura. “Doing anything fun today?” He kept his tone as casual as he could.
She looked at him, puzzled. “We have training this morning, Lance,” she said as she moved to clear away her own plate. “Then I suppose Shiro, Coran, and I will be working on details for our mission to Asorora to bring them supplies now that they have been liberated.”
He smiled and nodded at her as he watched her walk to the kitchen. He tried not to feel a little disappointed that no one mentioned his birthday.
They've probably completely forgotten about you.
