Wei Ying, a line of blood slit across his neck. Wei Ying, unconscious, soaking Lan Wangji’s back with blood as he prayed he made it back to the Cloud Recesses in time. Wei Ying, casually dismissing the cursed necrotic flesh he had invited onto his body. And before, Wei Ying in a hundred other moments Lan Wangji had not been present for.
“Because it was preventable,” he responded.
