The moment struck.
Galfrey felt it before she understood what she was feeling—a shift in pressure behind her eyes, a sudden certainty that something had changed in fundamental ways even if she could not name what or how. The adjuncts holding visualization spells stiffened as one, backs going rigid like soldiers called to attention. A ripple moved through the crusaders, bodies tensing in response to instinct rather than visible signal.
Somewhere hundreds of miles away and then again and again around the map, power rose. The air itself began to shiver, the smell of iron and old stone deepening until Galfrey tasted it coating the back of her throat.

A queen of Mendev who has spent a century in armour discovers, rather inconveniently, that she has a body. A Bhaalspawn Archmage who has just been made to destroy her apprentice's mind is trying very hard not to come apart at the seams. The Worldwound is still open, twelve of the greatest mages in the world are assembling, and the Triarchy is watching.

Summary
In a slightly different version Faerun, created by Daedric Princes, and ruled by different gods and other laws, two vastly different women meet - and clash.
Queen Galfrey of Mendev has fought the Worldwound—a reality-tearing Abyssal rift—for over a century, sustained by the Sun Orchid Elixir and duty.
In the wake of Absolute Crisis which had rattled the mighty city of Baldur's Gate only two years ago, the Triarchy of Amn, Sword Coast, and Dessarin Coast, starts paying attention to potential trouble abroad, and thus a Harper dispatch is sent to a remote backwater state of Mendev, deep in the Broken Lands in Thayan East to investigate something that resembles a botched planesmould.
The High Harper of Baldur's Gate, Jaheira, cashes in on favour from her friend: the newly-annointed Archmage of the Triarchy, a thirty-three year old Bhaalspawn, Gorion's Ward and The Absolute Vanquisher, Visenya Belaerys.
This is their story.
This story is a tribute to many stories I have read and have been inspired by, to different cosmogonies and philosophies I had found interesting, an exploration of certain tropes and ideas I wanted to play with.
Most of all though, this is a love story.

Summary
Galfrey was a queen, a paladin, an icon for all that was righteous and just in the Crusades. Cleo was a barbarian, a tiefling, a personification of demonic chaos. By all rights and logic, the two should have been at each other's throats- and often, they were.
But somehow, through war and struggle and sacrifice, they ended up finding more in each other than either ever expected.
