natasha never thought that being forced to suffer through a painfully gen z group chat would directly lead to her becoming an accidental mother figure to a bunch of super-powered teenagers. first she already has to put up with all the guys on her team and their toxic masculine ways, and you're telling her that now she has to stop a bunch of kids from accidentally killing each other every day? she needs a goddamn glass of wine (scratch that, she could use a bottle)
peter parker decides that he simply must create a group chat with all of the other young avengers (and of course, he has to add momma spyder, much to her dismay).
to say it is chaotic would be the understatement of the century.

Summary
Kate Bishop has been hit in the face with a 'Welcome to the Real World' metaphorical pie following Christmas. The new Hawkeye is trying to learn how to live independently (it's so much work but she's trying really, really hard, she promises!) but realises that the real world is full of professionally shitty people and even shittier situations. Lonely in her newly refurbished flat, Kate finds that perhaps an uninvited visitor might not be the worst thing to happen to her this week.
Kate and Yelena learn how to navigate this super fucked up world together, finding friendship in each other and potentially, if they're ready for it, something more.

"Jamie doesn’t remember most of her Christmases from her childhood. Her memories of her time with Louise and Dennis (as she has taken to calling them, now several years removed from the last time she’s seen them) are hazy at best.
She can vaguely conjure up a distant memory of their living room, hazy with cigarette smoke, and Louise and Dennis watching her and Denny rip through a few hastily wrapped gifts under the tree that turned out to be varying kinds of cheap liquor and a pair of roller skates that she and Denny were meant to share.
That was the most normal of those Christmas memories. The others were emptier, colder. She doesn’t miss them, later- but she misses what they could have been."

Yelena comes back after Hawkeye. Kate comes back after Thunderbolts*. Over the course of about three years, they fall in love.
Very slice-of-life, but also very angsty. It's a fun time! Mind the tags. Rated T for themes.

They just have to convince the world they're in love while taking down a dangerous organization and trying not to ruin their friendship in the process. But hey, at least Kate gets to spend more time with her favorite Russian! If only she could figure out what's real and what's for the cameras...

Summary
Yelena squares her shoulders and lifts her head up, ready for a fight. There’s a hundred arguments on the tip of her tongue, but when her eyes lock with Kate’s every single one of them falls away. What she sees on Kate’s blue eyes is so familiar that she had never seen it anywhere but in the mirror, and it feels like diving head first into ice cold water.
She takes a step back and raises her hands as a sign of peace much like Kate had done a few minutes earlier, choosing to deescalate the situation before Kate draws her bow and she finds out if third time really is the charm.
“You really should’ve just given the flash drive to us,” Yelena says with a tired sigh.
“You should’ve asked nicely.”
Or: Set after the events of Thunderbolts*, Kate and Yelena are searching for their purpose when they cross paths and find that maybe they're more similar than they once thought. And maybe they don't have to search alone.
