Feofan ignores them, sending his undivided effort towards the young man currently biting through an ice cream cone as though it owes him money. Feofan’s full charm, he’s been told, is not unimpressive. He licks a streak of blue from his wrist. It’s unreasonably hot for Snezhnaya, and 18 seems to be suffering from heatstroke, or some kind of temporary blindness, or possibly an aneurysm.
"What’s your favorite flavor?" Feofan asks conversationally.
18 gets up and sits down further away.
All of Zandik’s clones get along with Feofan except 18.

The day is pleasant—or it was—with the sun warm and bright in a cloudless sky painted truest blue, a gentle breeze from the south easing the heat. A wonderful day to sit and enjoy tea by the harbor. But now Neuvillette is here, and Zhongli won’t suffer her presence. Not with Neuvillette’s intent to judge her hanging over her head.
When Neuvillette goes into heat for the first time, she turns to Zhongli for assistance.

They know where they are going, they know what’s going to happen, or at least what every factory worker says. All living beings have a third sense, when they just know. Every piece of dread hitting their nervous system like a ten-ton brick, slamming every functioning system.
Looking at her felt like someone using a knife to peel away every layer of myelin, leaving the nerve raw and stringy, an optimal cut of steak. This woman was gold if gold was ever anything.
