Summary
She looks at Baran’s mouth. She could kiss her, she thinks.
‘Trinity,’ Baran says, voice low and edged with warning.
‘What?’ She looks straight at Baran, smirks a little.
‘What are you doing?’ She tilts her head, bores straight into Trinity’s eyes.
Trinity’s heart drops deliciously. Baran’s eyes glint and her voice is so honeyed and she’s looking at her like fucking that and of course Trinity is gonna fucking say something. Trinity isn’t even really flirting with her, not yet.
‘’M not doing anything,’ she mumbles. She leans a little closer.
Baran smirks. ‘Trinity.’
‘What?’ she repeats. She’s smiling. She could kiss her.

Summary
"I didn't realize this was a funeral."
Dana looks up from studying her hands in the sink (her left ring finger, in particular) to catch Dr. Santos's face in the bathroom mirror.
"It's my party, and I'll cry if I want to," she shrugs.
The evening that was meant to be a celebration of her retirement from The Pitt (for keeps this time, no going back for any reason, boredom be damned) has been largely spent avoiding questions about where her husband is and attempting to discreetly solicit divorce lawyer recommendations from Lena.
It hadn't been her idea. Dana had planned to spend her retirement reconnecting with Benji, repairing the relationship that had suffered under the weight of years of putting patients and coworkers first. Only to find out the week of her retirement that her husband had apparently, for months, been working his way up to informing her that he was done with their marriage, and he wanted to move back home to be closer to his mother.
Which is to say, she's having a bit of a fucking time.

Summary
“Hey,” Trinity says, pushing off the railing. “Would you want to go grab a drink?”
No, is Samira’s knee-jerk response, derived from nothing other than the worn paths in her psyche, of her own self-perception that she isn’t the kind of person who does these things. But. Lightning flashes again and she blinks as rain starts pelting down on them, a true there-and-gone summer storm. There’s no escaping it. Trinity’s laughing as they run back to the door and off the roof. The suddenness of everything squeezes through her and she’s nodding. “Yeah, sure.” Breathless. “Let’s go get a drink.”
