“First,” Maki glances between them. “You have to promise you won’t like, lock me up. Or call the cops or animal control or something.”
“Did you murder someone? What’s going on?” Harua tilts his head in confusion, Yuma mirroring the concern on his face.
Maki sighs, finally giving up, even though neither Harua or Yuma have agreed to his promises. He yanks the beanie off of his head, his hair flopping down over his forehead, and something else.
It takes a moment for Harua’s eyes to adjust, but when they do it becomes clear why Maki was so worried.
He thinks they must be fake at first. They sell those kinds of things in certain shops and maybe this is just some elaborate prank Maki is pulling on them. There’s no way it could be anything else.
Or: Seemingly overnight, Harua's best friend Maki has grown two puppy ears and a fluffy tail.

Taki knew that he shouldn’t. He thought about what K would say; that they would be putting the group at risk. That it was reckless to date at all, much less another idol. Much less a member, and a man. That their careers could be upended if this got out. Taki had every reason to say no and to tell Yuma good night. He only had one reason to say yes. And yet.
“Sure,” Taki said, nodding his agreement. “Sounds perfect.”
