"There was only one person whose opinion mattered to Jack. And trust me, you don’t want to be that person.”
Clarice frowned in confusion. “You mean that trainee… Miriam Lass?”
    “Nah, I mean Will Graham.”
A loud bang filled the usually quiet morgue as Jimmy Price dropped the bag he had been holding a moment before.
“What are you doing? You shouldn’t talk about him!”
    “Why not?”
Zeller looked at him expectantly, challengingly, and Jimmy huffed in response.
“You damn well know why. It’s like with Voldemort. You can say it, but you shouldn’t, because it freaks people out.”

    AKA
Clarice Starling meets the Murder Husbands and discovers things about human nature that no university class or FBI training could ever prepare her for.

genuinely one of the best hannibal fanfictions out there and the characterisation is spot on. this needs more attention istg. beautiful prose, amazing plot (with a plot twist you both did expect and completely blindsided you at the same time?), clarice starling's pov was actually hilarious in places yet also so beautiful. hannibal and will's relationship... those petty, petty men omg. beautiful and dark and so much yearning and anger... and a happy ending! (poor jack having to deal with everyone though HA)

    Summary

Beware: Maegor with teats has begotten Aerion the Monstrous.

Prince Aerion Targaryen once drank a cup of wildfire, convinced it would make him a dragon. It made him a corpse instead—briefly. Fate (or the gods, or some bored Valyrian demon with a taste for jokes) spits him back into the world generations earlier, reborn as the twin brother of Prince Jacerys Velaryon, son of Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen.

    He isn’t a dragon. Tragic.

Still Aerion decides to do what he does best:

    Cause problems on purpose.

the best fic i have ever read hands down. the sheer horror of this, and the tragedy of the time war is brutally explained and fits perfectly into doctor who canon (though what is canon to a time travel show?). the moment where the doctor feeds the nightmare child cassiopeia galaxy instead of the milky way was terrifying. how insignificant we all are. terrifying and huge and eldritch beings and yet the characters shine in this fic. the author has captured the essence of the doctor as well. the prose is beautiful, casual and yet lies upon foundations of utter horror. what a fantastic job the author did. what horror they have brought forth. what brilliance. i have never read anything like this before or since, it stands alone, partly because it plays with time, shows what could be, what was, what isn't, what is, and muddles everything up and that is so difficult to comprehend but it is so easy to do so in this fic. and the ending? the last line hit like a dalek exterminating a human. what a line. what other choice was there? and the consequences of that choice... well. canon shows us that. above all, the sheer devastating loss that the doctor, the only one who remembers, the only one who knows, experiences, is expressed in a beautifully articulate manner.

    Bookmarker's Notes

The relationship and characterisation is spot on. The prose is hauntingly beautiful, almost mournful in its tone. A dance between two people, giving and taking equally in return, and still, something about this story stays with me long after I have caught up on all the updates. 10/10, the author has captured something tragically lovely.
