Sonic slept with Shadow one night because of drunken stupidity and neither wanted to see the other after that. But then Sonic ends up pregnant and he was going to tell Shadow but Shadow didn't want to listen. So Sonic moves to a small town to start over.
Years later, Shadow is sent to a small town for a misson and finds Sonic with a set of twins and he's their father. And because one of his kids loves Shadow, Sonic allowed his kids to spend time with their father and all they're doing is co-parenting. At least that's what it is to Sonic but Shadow might be falling in love. Little by little.
