What if the Knight from Hollow Knight got sent back to the past? I got that idea when thinking of a way to potentially have an ending where Quirrel is alive... Let me cope in peace
The Knight woke up and everything felt off for them, somehow... Grimmothy seemed to feel that same, hovering in the air and looking at the near distance in utter confusion, coincidentally where Ghost needed to go. As they approached the room where their sibling should be, the Knight was startled to see that there was not a single infected particle in the air, instead entering a clean room with a pure vessel chained in the middle. They were much, much more well kept than Ghost had expected them to be and somehow, despite how it was outside of the egg, here the only signs of infections were tiny putrid orange particles surrounding the sleeping, seemingly exhausted Hollow Knight. Still, the small vessel did not falter, simply breaking the chains and freeing them.

Shen Jiu’s body froze instinctively as he readied himself for a blow.
But it never came, because when Shen Jiu managed to look up, all he could see was a man’s broad back swathed in black robes, his grip tight around Qiu Jianluo’s wrist.
“Qiu-gongzi, what could ever make you think that a charlatan like me wouldn’t want this boy as his disciple?”

Summary
Shen Jiu, as he decides to call himself nine shichen after waking up alone in a field, has no memory of the man he used to be. Thankfully, he’s taken in by a bumbling but well meaning fool that seems overly interested in looking after his health and happiness. Shen Yuan has a luxurious estate, enough money and power to be forever comfortable, and no pesky spouses to take his attention up.
Shen Jiu would be an idiot not to marry this man and secure his own future, and secure it he certainly will. By any means necessary.

The rich kids up there only saw someone who was both weak and below them, therefore perfectly within their rights to stomp on. "If they want to treat you like a dog, you remind them that dogs bite."
His sweet, adorable, little brother hunches his shoulders inwards and sniffles. The last of his tears are drying on his cheeks, the salt tracks already chapping them.
"But... Yuan-ge... Shizun says that-"
"Fuck him!"
Shen Yuan wakes up as something that shouldn't exist. He decides to be a good big brother.
