Summary
While paying a visit to Miko one day, Ei overhears the shrine maidens whispering about an elusive “Shrine Phantom” that appears rarely during the winter months, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. With Miko feeling unwell, Ei sets out in search of this ‘phantom’ in order to stop it in its tracks… before it can put her love in harm’s way.

“What a needy vixen,” Ei says in a hushed tone, sending faint pulses of electricity through her fingertips whenever they touch bare skin, causing Miko to shiver in both delight and anticipation. “The past five hours wasn’t enough of a reward for you?”
Miko lets out a soft laugh, cupping Ei’s face with both hands as she pulls her in for a sweet kiss.
“...I have waited for you for five hundred years,” Miko reminds her gently, and Ei’s eyes soften with affection for the fox in her arms. “Do you think five hours is a fair reward?”

Summer. The season of extremes. The hottest temperatures during the day, constant insufferable humidity, and soon, the rainy season bringing endless storms and occasional typhoons.
But being taken care of by Ei is always nice.
