I think I understand Louis, by this point, very well. The things I understand about Armand are far fewer. One: he is a liar. Two: he’s still a whore, though he doesn’t seem to know it. Three: he is very, very used to getting what he wants.
And four: if Louis hadn’t twice forbidden it, I think he would have happily killed me where I stood.

“I'm starting to remember it, you know?” Daniel hates the vulnerable edge in his own voice, unable to hold it back as his mind flashes with the few bits of memory he's been able to recover on his own.
“Yet another motive for my murder,” Armand's voice remains as unmoved as his body.
“Years, a fucking decade,” Daniel is getting close to yelling and he's pretty sure he can feel blood dripping down his arms from his claws. “You took a fucking decade of my life.”
“It was twelve years–” Armand corrects and Daniel's heart seizes.
“Jesus fucking Christ,” he swears under his breath as Armand just keeps talking.
“And I did not take all of it, Mr. Molloy.”
“Oh, so it's still Mr. Molloy these days?” Daniel scoffs, prying his claws from his own skin with great effort. “Whatever happened to “Beloved”?”

See how fast it will get snuffed out before there's nothing left for you to use as a curtain of excuse." The words were spoken heatedly against his left ear as his jaw was cradled in a mockery of tenderness.
