Satoru wants to laugh, but doesn't.
Where did this come from? From something written into the stars, probably. From stardust and from the sea, the sky and the sun and the moon. It came from the same place wind comes from.
Satoru shrugs. "I dunno. Feels right, doesn't it?"

Summary
To escape the question of what comes next, they leave New York with half-packed boxes, unanswered questions, and a map marked like a dare.
Neither of them admits it’s also a mistake waiting to happen.
With their lives in boxes and their futures undecided, Suguru and Satoru set off on a cross-country road trip they absolutely should not take while avoiding a conversation they absolutely need to have. What follows is national parks, shared beds, emotionally loaded jokes, inconvenient attraction, and a growing inability to pretend this is just two friends killing time before the next phase of their lives.
They kiss. They don’t talk about it.
They touch. They definitely don’t talk about it.
They keep choosing each other anyway.
