    Percy Jackson just wanted a blue coke, a long nap, and maybe a chance to finally go home. Instead, as the Titan King dissolves into dust, he throws one last, catastrophic screw you and blasts Percy straight back to Ancient Greece.

    But this isn't the romanticized, mythic past Percy's heard about. It’s a chaotic, terrifying era where the gods are at their petty peak, monsters don't stay dead for more than twenty minutes, and demigods are around every corner.

    Equipped with nothing but Riptide, a shirt covered in Titan dust, and a severely depleted supply of patience, Percy tries to navigate a world of the past.

Three year old Percy witnessing this lets out an immense divine storm burning up his mortality and ascending into a godling. Poseidon who arrived moments too late realizes his once demigod son whom he could previously not be around is now a godling and alone. He immediately whisks Percy away before anyone notices to raise him in Atlantis.

To leave a child like this, a living godling of the salt, out in the open? To let him be swept away by a stray current of rage? It was a crime against the divine. It was proof that whoever had sired this boy did not deserve him.

    He is mine, Poseidon thought, and the thought was a law. He looks like me. He speaks with my storms. He has my eyes. He is the child the Fates stole from me, returned by the very winds of my grief.

    Or: Poseidon thinks he's stealing a child of some foreign sea god for his own and Percy just thinks he's been booted backwards in time and together they make for half a brain cell.

    It is the dawn of the world, the Primordial Age of Creation. The Titans hold dominion over a new and brutal cosmos, their rule absolute and born of patricide. Their king, Kronos, devours his own divine children, consumed by a prophecy that he will share his father's fate. The future is a closed loop of violence, promising only an eternity of fear under a tyrant's thumb, where divinity is not a thing of grace but of monstrous, untamed power.

    Into this darkness, a god was meant to be born: Poseidon, the Earth-Shaker. A being of violent tempests, petty rage, and rapacious desires, destined to be as feared and ruthless as the father who imprisoned him. But in the suffocating blackness of Kronos's stomach, that destiny has been broken. The nascent god has been subsumed by a soul from another time, one who carries not a thirst for power, but a fire for creation and a fierce, desperate love for the family he now shares a prison with.

    The Golden Age of the gods awaits its true architect, and Atlantis dreams of rising once more, for the King of the Seas has cometh.
