Summary
Arthur and Merlin are princes of two opposing races due to a conflict that started with their parents and plunged the planet into a brutal civil war. Arthur belongs to an ancient race of dragon shapeshifters. Merlin is the most powerful sorcerer to ever live. “I’m leaving.” Merlin says, because this situation already cost him his Duolingo streak, and he’s too tired to deal with Arthur when the food Gaius is serving him looks like it belongs on a list of war crimes committed by the Canadian soldiers.
“Where to?” His mentor asks, and Merlin shrugs, before going to his room and packing his bag.
“India. Gaius, I have decided I don’t give a damn, especially not when having to eat that bland food. I’ll be back in three months, make sure Arthur doesn’t die when I’m out.”
“Merlin!” And maybe, if he was younger and didn’t travel back to the past last month, he would’ve actually cared about the ‘eyebrow of disapproval’.
Or, a 1500yo Merlin gets zapped to the past during his vacation to Cuba. You’d think he’s happy to see Arthur again. He’s not.

Summary
An AU of the season 4 finale, wherein Arthur refuses to abandon his castle during Morgana's seige, and Merlin refuses to use magic to take away Arthur's will, so they're at an impasse.
Rather than break his moral code to bewitch Arthur, Merlin decides to break his secrecy. If Arthur doesn't want to leave his Castle... fine. They won't. Merlin will just have to take it back for him... and all that entails.

Summary
When Hunith foresees the dreadful future that awaits her son in Camelot, she twists fate by not sending Merlin to the legendary city. Unfortunately, destiny cares little for concerned mothers, and a certain injured blond prince ends up finding his way in Ealdor.
Or: a Different First Meeting AU where Hunith is a Seer and tries to protect Merlin from the tragedy of canon by not sending him to Gaius, but that doesn’t stop him from finding Arthur injured in the woods the next day.
